there won't be any speed difference unless you're gaming (latenct)

Make sense since Meta, Google, and others are in cahoot with NSA/FBI. They got big bucks from selling users data to the glowies.
Of course that's what China does too, but people make it sounds like the west is sinless.

It's not as oppressive as it was portrated by outside sources. Simply put, US companies banned by China re those that refuse to comply with Chinese laws. While Tiktok complied with US laws, has american users data hosted in the US, also has western investors like Blackrock and Vanguard.
The Tiktok drama is just an overreaction from USA.

punmeisterone, 19 Apr 2024... because without Foxconn they would be screwed.Foxconn is not that important for them. There are plenty of companies that can assemble phones. Xiaomi for example don't manufacture any of their own phones apart from foldables but they largely don't use Foxconn. They outsource to other companies like BYD, Longcheer etc. Tsmc is extremely important though. They can't manufacture the same level of processor without them.
