Ive been using Huawei P50 Pro for about 6 months now. With EMUI 14 and MicroG (open source project which enables google services but doesnt send data to google, privacy) I am able to use all the apps I need (Instagram, Facebook, Messenger, Whatsapp, Gmail, Chrome..). It works as every android phone and maybe even better, but thats just my opinion. Google play store is also there (Using GBox only for play store so that i can install apps ON DEVICE and update them regularly). But if youre concerned with gbox and your privacy you can use Aurora Store which is an open-source store that gets all the apps from google play store.

Zoom/Google Meets/Microsoft Teams = Yandex Telemost. Google Play Store = RuStore, Huawei AppGallery, Aurora Store. Google Notes = Huawei Notes. Google Maps = 2Gis, Petal Maps, Yandex Maps, Yandex Navigation, KakaoMap, NAVER Map. Uber Eats = Yandex Eats, ChocoFood, Glovo, Wolt. Google Weather = Yandex Weather, Huawei Weather. And so much more.

How about a few examples, because the vast majority of the commonly used things at least in my area are still not available, and last I checked, you can't just "alternative app" your way out of a communications circle like Discord (and no, telling everyone you know to use some other app because you are is a terrible idea).
Also, the using-Google-apps, I haven't been keeping track of that, but last I checked, you have to use some pretty sketchy workarounds to get those working on a Huawei phone, which I (and probably everyone else) should most definitely avoid.

However, after 4 years later, currently, there are many alternative apps and clone apps which are exclusively made for Huawei phones. For example, currently I am using the Huawei Mate 60 Pro Plus for 6 months. And, I can download all Google apps except for Google Wallet and enjoy my Huawei experience.

Trust me, I actually tried to use the P40 Lite for over a year, the amount of inconvenience you're inviting in your life if you live in any country where Google services are a widely-used thing is absolutely unreasonable given how Huawei's phones are either the same price as Samsung's or in some cases even higher. Why bother? For a slightly better camera? Or a 3-5% faster CPU? Just...no.
