A phone is a phone if I can scan any qr code of any company or advert and download the app to my phone and use.
To say they are focusing on China first means they not serious. Your phones are everywhere in the world except US, so why not get all on board at the same time? How long should I wait to use a phone that can only Mae calls and sent text messages?

Apps don't mean squat if the service is awful. Everytime I open the Huawei store I get plastered with an unskippable ad. Unless they make their store convenient to use it will never catch on.

Number of apps are not important, if apps that require security levels are not supported
I remember when Windows phones tried the same, but without the ability to use banking or id apps, its no sale. And that was back then, now people are even more dependent on their phone to do everything

There was a time when sailfish OS was promising as successor of Meego OS, but no vendors support it, and no developers makes apps for sailfish OS. What a disappointment
