Weekly poll results: the Motorola Edge 50 series is promising but overpriced

27 April 2024
The Fusion model didn't get that many complaints about its price, but not much interest either. The Pro model drew in a lot of interest, but the price will have to come down.

I also think moto edge 50 pro has slightly overpriced because actual price is 32k and 2k off on limited credit card because I think if this phone price is around 25k to 26k then this phone was mind blowing and dominating All over the industries

Anonymous, 28 Apr 2024It's not promising either. I hate when the next &a... moreHere in my country Zenfone isn't that expensive. In my country Zenfone 10 is only priced at $460 (or should I say, the cheapest 8 Gen 2 phone in my country). Sadly, it only comes with 8/128 configuration and only got 2 OS updates (thanksfully the update isn't really slow lol).
There used to be the 16/512 configuration, but it's far pricier, makes it less worth it. ($740)
The Zenfone 11 Ultra is (thanksfully) not available in my country, so does Moto.

That's where the larger screen size comes from. While I was writing this, I looked at the pictures of all 4 phones that I've owned and noticed a substantial difference in the bezels. That's probably why my pixel feels so small, as oppose to the 3mm (0.1") difference in width alone.

Anonymous, 28 Apr 2024Interestingly enough, I find all three of these models too ... moreIf you feel 6.7 inches is too small, maybe you should get a tablet instead.

Actually the screen needs to be slightly wider, it is far too narrow compared to most other phones.

Software updates. Fix software updates policy and I'll get it.

The 50 pro in the uk is between £400-600, 600 is for the 12gb, 512gb version and its from a known shop called john lewis that usually is a rip off for phone prices. The ultra has no price/not being sold yet here.

What i see as a constant reoccurring issue is that europes pricing is absolutely awful, way worse than most of the world and gets more samsung devices than any other devices so has very irratic ecosystem that allows samsung to completely dominate the market (so USA except they get better pricing than anywhere else) that looks very very biased, poor europeans.

GSM you need to start including south American countries and pricing, more asian countries and pricing, the UK which you forget about all the time and ignore their pricing for all products, also the contient africa, you know the biggest contient on the planet, they exsist and people buy devices there too.

Amit05, 28 Apr 2024Price aside, it's too big. A few cms smaller and it wo... moreInterestingly enough, I find all three of these models too small. I just bought a pixel 7a after 7 years of owning bigger phones (Moto G4+, G5S+, TCL 10L) and don't like how it feels. I need something that's at least 75mm wide. I hope the Moto x50 ultra is bigger and comes with a 8 gen 3.

Also the 8s gen3 is just an OCed 7+gen3.

I'm pretty that the Fusion with the 6 gen 1 will come to the US as the Edge 2024 like last year. Unfortunately this market has become a flagship-or-bust market thanks to carrier discounts on contracts. Hence, the scarcity of SD 7 phones in the US

Most times I don't understand consumers. "Too much" they say.
Then when a mid tier comes, they ask for better camera, faster chip and more storage.

Read the moto comments from a month ago and there seems to be contradictions.

Price aside, it's too big. A few cms smaller and it would have been better

Curtis Loew, 28 Apr 2024I bought the Moto Edge+ 2023 at launch from my carrier for ... moreThat's best device for 599. Killer pricing to be honest. Camera is below par and rest everything is top notch. But Motorola needs to work on software update frequency. Rest is great. Moto has addressed camera front in Edge 50 Pro and Edge 50 Ultra. So, only software is remaining. So let's see, what happens with this series. Also, just one cons. 8s gen 3 doesn't bring any changes to X75 modem. So I am worried about that as well. But it's fine. I hope next iteration, Motorola includes mmwave in their phones. That's only cons right now if we neglect software policy.

But now Chinese people have good hardware along with Qualcomm chips. Even Dimensity has progressed well. Tensor doesn't stand a chance. Pixel cannot be bought just on software experience. Overall it should be good package. Pixel Pro series should be at 799-899. Nothing more than that for 256GB.

                                    It's not promising either.

I hate when the next & future "Pixel Killers" That uses Stock Android like Moto and Asus Zenfone goes up in price and eliminating several unusual features that make Android phones great again.

Yes they are expensive. But I put a per-order on the 50 Ultra. A electronic store in Sweden had 20% discount. So with that the price was alright.

Longevity of Motorola products is their weak point. After a year they either break, slow down drastically or simply fall apart. It has happened to me on three occasions in my life - so for me no more Motorola. I went for xiaomi after the Motorola, then I decided to try Huawei both long lasting phones this phone is over two years old and work like new..Nova 9 my next phone will probably be Huawei too.
