Just my opinion, 26 Apr 202435 trillion DEBT? Haha So much for their world domination plans! As long as $ is reserve currency, us don't have to worry about debt. They can print money anytime.

regs, 25 Apr 2024And they keep whining that China is allegedly subsiding bus... moreYeah, it's happening everywhere. The problem though is that it has a greater chance of working in China because of the lower costs (currently).

Try to open up a fab in Norway or Switzerland. It would only work if it was 99% robotized. Which is going to be the case in the US in the small event that any of those chipact businesses actually survive without subsidy. Then where are the jobs? So to summarize. Probably the business will leave as soon as the subsity stops, and if it doesn't it'll be a bunch of machines producing. (Which isn't necessarily bad but I bet the chips act people today don't realize this. They look at current fabs. The ones with most market share are in low cost countries so it's not going to work. But as with most things government. They don't care about the long run, as long as there is a short term benefit that they can claim the credit for. They'll be in another position or retired before the negative side effects occur.)

Mills, 26 Apr 2024Everyone is in debt, yes. But the US has up to 35 trillion ... more35 trillion DEBT? Haha So much for their world domination plans!

i predict later this will be post office fabs. Everything will be outsouces

The "capitalists" in the US is literally feasting on state fund. And the state is surviving on $35 trillion public debt. An ironic recipe for impending disaster

No wonder people say "it's called the American Dream, because you've to be asleep to believe it"

Anonymous, 25 Apr 2024Plenty of governments give subsidies for building factories... moreBYD got its subsidies almost 15 years ago. They have nothing to do with modern state of the business. All current "subsidizes" are just state of the market regulations that simplifying business for eveyone working in China, including Tesla and Volkswagen.

I hope Indonesian government read this article. Its a shame thats our government always emphashizing to use local product and avoid imported ones. How is it even possible if we don't have a capable semiconductor plants. What is happening are corruptions to fraudently label an imported products for having local composition as minimum as 40%. If the product is fully imported, how come it has 40% local composition.

But last year, when USA announced their 200 billion dollar subsidies package, EU politicians where begging the US to stop it because the EU wouldn't be attractive to companies anymore.
The EU next to USA is another definition of hypocrisy.

Mills, 25 Apr 2024US is still in debt...US can be in debt forever since most of the countries are addicted to Petrodollar. As long as the world continues to use US dolaar, it will keep its exchange rate high and thus its value, so that USA can make as much debt as they want, even if they don't produce anything.
