The difference is that China does that for production. It doesn't matter if BYD is selling products at a loss, as the state will cover their losses.

Imagine YMTC wanting to come to USA and start NAND manufacturing in USA. Will USA allow it and give them those $6 bln?

              If any of these chips act companies manage to sell products at a globally competitive price, after the gov funding has dried up, I'd be extemely surprised. Competition is good but this isn't market based competition and so it isn't sustainable.
