Sony ... moreAnd that's why I dearly miss smartphones with true physical optical zoom like Samsung's Galaxy S4 zoom and K zoom. Even Hasselblad made one for Motorola Moto Mods. No matter how good modern sensors are when it comes to digital hybrid zooming, it still never able to real real optical zooming. It's the reason why modern flagship smartphones still doesn't completely replace dedicated DSLR/Mirrorless cameras.

What it desperately need is performance and camera boost. I know Xperia 1/5 has great camera, but the Xperia 10 should have the same experience as well.

                      Market is full of super camera phones.
                      If Sony wants to stand a chance they ,ust bring something extra avesome othervise they have no chance against said camera kings on the market.

Xperia's sharpening is generally very large in radius from all the samples I have seen, and this one's no exception - Even without zooming in slight ringings can be seen. A nice photo you've got there, nonetheless.

                        My a7IV has those "fancy settings" and I find them very useful in getting the exact look I want to have. I like to use FL at a slightly lower contrast than the default. I don't see why Sony wouldn't be able to put them on their smartphone app too.

                              I hope they will allow users to control the post-processing in more granular ways on the 1 VI.

                              To give you an example, Xperia's out-of-camera-JPEG has a fairly noticeable edge-hardening baked in, and other phone manufacturers are providing at least one of: An option to lower the sharpness, a separate mode with a lower sharpening setting, or a default auto mode that goes lax in sharpening to begin with.

                              Compared to the same settings found on Sony's dedicated cameras, Xperia's Creative Look options are rather limited and IIRC they don't allow you to adjust contrast, sharpness nor clarity. Those controls are necessary if you're trying to simulate a particular look that you're fond of.

But cropped to 1/3.5"... moreYou need to get off this BS rumour, it's been a few years since you started spreading it - I know this is based on the fact that Xperia's tele sensor had the same model number as Huawei's main camera, but logically speaking, a sensor of that size would NEVER fit into Xperia's thin chassis. Also, IMX600 is a Quad Bayer sensor - If you crop it into 12MP you would effectively have 3MP of colour resolution to work on, which would look absolutely terrible at 100% after the array conversion.
