You've never held 1 in your hand so you wouldn't know, just like how you wouldn't know jack about it's cameras, But I'm willing to go head to head against your video shooting abilities and video quality of your phone if you want to. If you watch MarcusB maybe, but in my opinion they have now one of the best software on the market. I work with professional photo equip and I know a lot about it. I can post two videos where I shot only in Auto mode and 90% of photos are 100% fine. Xperia has trully amazing camera setup and software but most important thing is to clean lenses before start photo/video.

At least they finally figured out no one wants a remote control aspect ratio and 4k on a TV for mice.
Now let's wait another decade for them to realize their camera software is garbage and they aren't Apple so they can't charge as if they were.

Anonymous, 27 Apr 2024Will it finally be LTPO?Why does that matter? LTPO doesn't have native Android support to extract efficiency. All flagships, except Samsung, that have LTPO screens have worse battery stamina than 1V with 4K screen without variable refresh rate. Implementing LTPO to gain battery savings is not easy task, it's riddled with bugs.

Sony should make an Xperia flip phone featuring a 7 inch 21:9 screen. That would be the best way to utilize that format, featuring a size that is kinda big enough for watching movies, without carrying a long boi all the time. Or better an flip tablet having a 21:9 screen to watch movies. If it was the latter, I would even consider buying it.

I prefer Sony's processing though it's much better at rendering fine details like leaves or fur on pets. I expect with the new AI processing it would look even better. If anyone could pull off natural looking AI processing I'm betting it's sony

The 1 Mk5 got a new software update around last week*. Also, two OS updates are more than enough for most people, especially those who buy and change phones through carries. I don't mind seeing Sony giving longer OS updates to their phones.

But, these things don't go on forever, one needs to keep an upgrade plan ready.
If one day suddenly it fails for whatever reason, must have a plan ready, or I'll have to buy something mass market with no microSD slot or 3.5mm jack or music quality being low or some other shortcoming.
