Yeah, so correct comparing phones using different settings, multiframe vs single frame exposure etc ..
It is not noisy. Also noise can easily be wiped out and then you sharpen to have texture back , exactly what samsung does.

1) 1vi is not going to be 1500 euros like mi14 ultra. At most 1400 with earbuds/headphones included, stuff that sony sells for more than 200 euros.
2) cheaper without being full of chinese components to reduce value of BoM
3) Sony is not going to make phone with massively thick bump like xiaomi / oppo. Exmor T tech allows smaller sensors to have almost same performance of type 1.0 while using less space inside, smaller/ thinner lenses. It works at lower voltage, generates less heat.
4) zoom lens is much harder to apply larger sensor compared to prime lens used by other. Also, it costs more than fixed FL periscope and uses more space inside
5) performance at most 20% ( actually not even near 20) more for sensor more than 2x the size is awful performance/size ratio. Mi14 has obligation to even beat Cybershot RX100 7 but loses.
6) imx989/Lyt900 has slow readout , zero chance it is less than 20ms at 12.5MP , imx888 must be about 10-12ms at most
Sony has 1/2.6" superwide.
Xiaomi has 1/2.5" superwide.
Why samples from xiaomi are worse?
Funny how chinese fanboys complain hete when review done by this site likes very much what was done.
It is not xperia cam review where you can read them complain about how software ruined the turf, how walls look like wax, how colors are too saturated.

Exactly what sony camera would do. But if you think iphone/galaxy/pixel do correct photography , nothing I can do.

Anyways, I really don't care about the minute differences the Lytia line makes, proper utilization and optimization of those pixels matters more in these small sensors. Don't care about the FWC of it or something but I saw some RAW photos from Juan Bagnell and the Xiaomi 14, with its relatively "small" sensor somehow had really good noise control at higher ISOs, then I saw some comparisons between the X100 Pro and the 1 V, the 1 V felt like a mid range contender at low light with its noisy shots, the X100 Pro dominated with the huger sensor.
I don't care about what sensors the Chinese use as long as they get good results out of it, it's fine. The OV64B might "only" be 1/2" but its 2x cropping, when utilized properly like in the X100 Pro, is second to none. Then the 2x cropping by the X100 Pro's 1 inch sensor is even better than the LYT-900 in the Xiaomi 14 Ultra sometimes. It's all about how you use it at the end of the day. Dunno what your point is but you're using useless technical specs instead of using actual comparisons. Watch LL Techview, The Tech Phenomena, Shibi-Chan and some others to get a grasp on how phones stack up in reality.

Size difference is more than 100%, performance difference is not even 20%.
An exmor T with 1/1.28" size would be enough to match LYT900, despite still being 70% smaller.
FWC of LYT800/T808 is 83% compared to 989/LYT900.
You should ask why next year chinese phones will be using Type 1.0 omnivision instead of Sony LYT900. Gonna demand them to go back to sony in 2026?

If... moreBeautiful shots, one problem though, other brands have significantly better hardware and you can get such shots easily with their pro modes. Ironically they use Sony sensors for example each and every lens on the Xiaomi 14 Ultra is a Sony sensor. So you get a good Auto mode from those that gives you vibrant colors, an option for authentic colors and the option to go for the Pro Mode? Yeah, easily destroyed by other companies.
Sony should use their own top sensors like the LYT-900 for the main cam and the LYT-600 for the UW and telephoto cams at the very least in order to make a compelling offer at this price. They offer Oneplus 12 level camera hardware with "minimalist" processing for double the price for what, some headphone jack that you can easily replace with a dongle if you're a normal functioning adult? Even audiophiles can use dongles and use huge DACs if they want but the point is, there's an alternative to Sony that's much better whilst spending just as much.
Sony was much better back during the Xperia 1 days because everyone was pumping super saturated stuff and Sony felt different, not anymore. I really hope Sony can put out phones with a headphone jack, SD card slot AND top tier camera hardware, all that would definitely justify the high prices of their phones.
