You cant play and charge at same time heavy games.
Having lots of updates its nice but no company gives equal warranty which is a shame.
lastly read some topic where EU wants much lonnger support for all devices even for repairs and warranty which is good for citizens bud bad for companies.
Less people will upgrade their devices less profit will come for said companies.

I was skeptical at first because 7 years of software updates for the Pixel 'a' series were too good to be true. I'm sorry I doubted you #teampixel although it was actually too obvious since the price was already too high.

until some engineer find out another breakthrough
look at apple 3nm chips, it have performance uplift yes, but not as many people expected
each release will still get some performance increase but not leaping with every release like 4-5years ago
then google and others seeing the trends and starting to support the hardware way much longer now

I don't know the exact numbers, but I'd assume around 20% of our customers have phones that are at least more than 5 years old and they would keep using them, if they could

For example Samsung S9 or S10 aint 7 years old and are unable to run Diablo immortal or genshin impact without nay lagging issues or worse.
Even said Nubia phone will be junable to run latest games which will be released in 7 years from now 2030 or later. Even something liek facebook, twitter known as X, whatsapp, viber, telegram, tik tok etc will take some time to run smoothly on 7 years old devices.
You can update your software but hardware will not keep up.

phoens witha battery than can last 50+ years on a charge are in works and will be unveiled in next few motnhs or a year maybe 2.
If a car manufacturer like Kia can give 7 years of warranty then phones can have them too.

Just for example new curved screen for something as old as S6 edge plus a phone from 2015 is like 200 euros plus price of repair.

I think, Tensor processors on exynos platform is killing Pixel phones. Old days pixel phones manufactured by HTC and LG had best hardwares.

funny, 28 Apr 2024And yet battery is unusable after 2 years, like on any phone...No it's not. You just have to charge it from 20-50% to 90-95% and you will safe a lot of battery cycles. Each battery should last at least full 500 cycles - that's 1,5 year. Charging it wisely should increase the life at least 2xtimes, so 3 years at least. After that just replace the battery and you are good to go for another 3 year cycle. So 7 years of security updates are great.

Pricing matters a lot, if priced more than launch price of Pixel 7a, it's better to go for iPhone 15 as the accessories of Google phones such as adaptor, screen protector and case cover are more expensive than any other brand.

7 years of security updates here is to price the phone on higher side.
Does the hardware work for 7 years without any issue.
Does the phone work smoothly for 7 years without lagging.
Is 4500mhz battery capable to work with next generation network ( forget 5G network) as pixel 8 needs to be changed twice in 24 hours in 4G network for normal usage.
What will be the life of battery.
I think after 4years, we can't use this phone as smartphone, but may use as feature phone only
