No sim free version- disappointing.
Staying in India, even when the sim free version does release, it'l take a while to get here. Hence, we can assume the earliest we can see of this phone would be next year, if at all.

Not good enough... Had Google and HTC used the Touch HD's platform for the android software and the G1 would have been a hit bigger than iphone... but the fact is, G1 is ugly and its UI is still flawed, as many reviewers have stated... Sad.. It could've beaten iphone and all its (unduly)hype!

A Realist, 16 Oct 2008the phone really isnt that bad... i ordered one already and... moreYou clearly aren't completely satisfied with ur handset...Understandable.

Who care's if its open source...Android is still underdeveloped and buggy and will never mess around with OS X. Btw a hacked iPhone is as good as open source.

the phone really isnt that bad... i ordered one already and have played wit it first hand and i like it... they stepped out the box to make a good solid device that works... with plenty of upgradibility... video and bt r not a huge concern for me but since it is open source u can be assured that they r developing programs to fix that so everyone can stop whining... thats what makes thisdevice better than ur crappy iphones... OPEN SOURCE

G1 is made only to show that iPhone is still number one in its class, that is, full-touchscreen device.

waiting for the next generation of G1, improvement in its model and interactive beauty.

                      Doesn't it?

Many would probably say yes, many say no.

I think they purposely made this phone ugly to make people pay more attention to the OS. The OS looks great but what broke the deal for me is the lack of video recording and crippled bluetooth... Just like the Iphone. At this point I'm leaning towards the Nokia 5800 for my next phone, it does it all and is way cheaper.

Second! Yeah, this is a strange phone ... but what is the focus ??

is it for Business or an iPhone Killer or just a meaningless hotchpotch of features??
