What kind of cloud company gives that much storage for free? The most amount of storage I saw for free was 25GB from MEGA. I also wouldn't like having to upload personal photos on cloud when I can keep it safe and secure with NO online access in an SD card (which brings to one of your points, who keeps a SIM remover on them all the time? Aside from me who keeps it on their key ring, I don't go up to random phones left behind (something only iPhone users do) and remove their SIM card and a small chance of them even having an SD card)

    Stopped in time?
    150mbits/s on a microSD card are a reality since more than a decade ago.
    The absurd nowadays is to pay such a premium for additional storage that you could buy the top of the line microSD card and still save money. Water ingress is also not a reason since the waterproofing to the SIM card slot isn't changed, either you have single SIM, dual SIM or even hybrid dual SIM...
    When was the last time you used a phone with a dedicated microSD card slot and not using the SIM card slot? When you bought that slow microSD back in 2011...😂

      And for the camera, there is an advantage to using an older model - you LEARN how it performs, and can adapt. Look at what Pixel did with their camera from the P2 all the way to the P5. By the end, they were able to pull every last single bit of performance from that camera, instead of just throwing it away & jumping to something new.

It's still not being proven that microSD cards are less secure than most people, including you, think. If anything, there's more proof of how vulnerable cloud storage can be. Also, not everything needs to be on the cloud. Having offline storage backup still gives tighter security than online solutions, not forgetting the fact that cloud storage provider can still directly access all your files without your consent.

            In Europe the choice is much easier since the S23 has a real Snapdragon and the S24 doesn't :)

              Every Galaxy phone ever : you must own a retail store and probably spent less than 3mths with each to know all the features and 1st hand experience with them all for to know all the depths and nuances of each.

              You wouldn't have time to use the 15 Pro vs the 24 if you spent 4 mths each.

                  MicroSD grants you the following:
                  1. Expandable storage up to 1TB (at a cost). Anyone of us can get more cloud storage in total for FREE! There is absolutely no argument for having 1TB of data on you at all times!
                  ^ this is literary the ONLY argument all these ppl have got and it gets weaker every year!

                  2. Access for water and use to get in and warranty void damage your phone. Guess what - you don't even have to do it yourself, put your phone down unattended or asleep anywhere and you're fubared! Go ahead go on vacation and enjoy when this happens to you lol.

                  3. Gives hackers fully undeterred access to your device in less than 5mins and without you even knowing. Episode 4 of Mr Robot can show you how (not some lame show it's vetted by Black Hat and White Hat's). But go ahead KEEP asking senseless for it.

                  4. Slower access to stored data than system access. Think of UFS2.X and how slow that was on phones over 6yrs ago! Yeah that's the fastest MicroSd is at 100-150Mbps (not MegaBytes but MegaBits per second)!


                  5. Look up #2 & #3 Points above and let's add when phone is left even for 40 seconds alone (hotel, bar, work, chilling with friends while playing sports etc and you're not paying attention or watching it ) - anyone with SIM tool removes your MicroSd of 1TB you whine about and BOOM goes the dynamite = the expression on your face and out ya mouth when realize that portable data is GONE!

                  NO longer in sync with cloud backup oh it may even have your unencrypted device and settings and data backed up onto it as well for someone to access.

                  So yeah keep asking for something you're clueless about. Xperia 1 users get it as photographers NEVER leave their gear unattended nor absent minded - yet theft happens to them too.

                  When RAM changes from LPDDR5X to a new standard that the 6th Gen Lenovo ThinkPad P1 has just debuted with being smaller on die and cheaper and much much faster - you'll finally jump on this runaway train.


                  6. Phone is stolen - while being carried with ELIMINATION enabled I can track it, encrypt data or purge data or have it sync to cloud for a last backup before whining and permanently locking it down. Enjoy trying that with your expandable 1TB the moment it's removed.

                    Still I've just got my S23 back in August so keeping it u til 2025 or late 2024 as my only but depending on hard work and contacts / networking who knows I just may rock a Z Fold 6 or Z Flip 6.

                        I've had literally every Galaxy flagship since the first one.
                        Last year the S23 at least had the soc going for it, even though they didn't upgrade the camera at all.
                        This year they still use the galf a decade old camera system, AND go back to Exynos. It's a nobrainer. If you want the best camera and battery life on small phone, you have to buy either the Xiaomi or iPhone 15 pro. If you want the best of the best, with no ads and no lens fogging, it's just the iPhone 15 pro.

There's no guarantee if the exisiting hardware can keep if with the ever-evolving software. At least if the phone is user-replaceable like Fairphone, there's still hope.

For that price, I can easily score any genuine Kingston or SanDisk 512GB or 1TB microSD card slot with real factory-backed warranty and have huge space for offline Spotify music and YouTube/Netflix videos.
