Get an iPhone 15 pro.
Same size, but with proper cameras larger than the S24 Ultra. Also better battery life than even the s24 Ultra.
If you have to get an android phone then either it depends. The s23 is by far the best value. The s24 isn't worth the extra money, but if it's Exynos it isn't worth it for free. You can also get a Xiaomi 14, but that one is significantly taller, has ads, lens fogging and about as many OS updates as the S23 has left.

If you live in the US, obviously get the S24.
If you live in Exynos regions, obviously get the S23 256gb.
Simple as that.

DBS, 10 May 2024They're both featureless garbage. But at least the S2... moreThey are nearly same size, S23 has smaller screen while S24 has bigger one due to smaller bezels.

They're both featureless garbage.
But at least the S23 is smaller and doesn't come with an Exynos SoC. Having fewer software updates will not move the needle with a single non-nerd consumer.
Besides, even with fewer updates, when the S23 stops getting updates, the software in it will still be more advanced than anything the competition will be offering then.
My old S10e, the last good Galaxy S that Samsung made, isn't on OneUI 6.1 like the garbage S23 I'm writing this on, but it's software is still miles more advanced than the most recent iPixel or Chinese iClone.
In fact, OneUI is the only thing Samsung still has going for itself (even though they're trying their best to ruin it too).

No thanks. I'm keeping my S23 for next year. Obviously not huge difference in terms of everything. Only 15% better chip, that's it.

Obviously, s23 is a more sensible choice. Basically the same phone with a cheaper price tag and, a more efficient soc. The only shortcoming is the software support time limit. But it's plenty enough for many.
