The 1 V and 5 V mostly are the same except for the telephoto. They can use the 1 VI's camera tech on the 5 VI and the 1 VI could use a 1 incher. How about that? See it's not that difficult to appease many people, Sony' smartphone division just doesn't know what they're doing.

No need to discuss 1V Tele samples from gsma cause since the update has been pushed that fixed the softness. For some reason 1V shipped with worse telephoto than 1IV

Take a look at 1IV samples instead

Nick Tegrataker, 11 May 2024Ah yes, such a nice passive-aggressive response even though... moreI have question for you. Could you tell me what aperture size in mm (milimeters) have lens that have sensor 1/3.5 and F2.3?

Nick Tegrataker, 11 May 2024Ah yes, such a nice passive-aggressive response even though... moreYes XD is sooo agressive. No man you are agressive because you are trying to convince everyone here that Xperia is bad and applies sharpening to HDR videos at 120fps, but PURA does not do this in photos.

Oh boy.... here come the Sony knights

LucasN82, 11 May 2024XD OKAh yes, such a nice passive-aggressive response even though you're the one who tried to change the topic and move the goalpost despite me specifically telling you not to do so beforehand.

LucasN82, 11 May 2024Yes..Im quite sure that VIDEO from Xperia is sharpened up..... moreYou do surely understand that sharpening is one of the least computationally expensive tasks to be performed on an image, right? I can see that the small edges of your video are having "hardened" look - An effect that sharpening exactly achieves.

Nick Tegrataker, 11 May 2024No, it doesn't. In terms of details, they are as good ... moreXD OK

Nick Tegrataker, 11 May 2024Nice video but it's not a piece of good evidence to su... moreYes..Im quite sure that VIDEO from Xperia is sharpened up... Sony have such powerful Compute Engine that can sharpen and compute video even on 4K120fps with HDR HLG (double exposure)

PS It is raw material from phone.

LucasN82, 11 May 2024Sorry man but that photo from PURA70 looks like computer ge... moreNo, it doesn't. In terms of details, they are as good as they could get. I guess if you're used to seeing photos from a rather soft lens, anything that can resolve more details would seem unnaturally sharp.

"And man... tons of sharpering is applied on that PURA photo, not on Xperia photo. Clouds on Pura looks like from photoshop."

Thank you for entirely ignoring my previous that told you to discard the difference in tonemapping because we're focusing on the detail rendition, which almost directly corresponds to how well the details are rendered. I also appreciate that you completely ignored the different weather/times in which those photos were taken which would affect how bright those trees are supposed to look relative to the sky
P70U's photos are absolutely LESS sharpened compared to Xperia's - Look at the amount of ringing around pretty much every edge on Xperia photos, it's crazy.

LucasN82, 11 May 2024I have checked photo with that ship and for me it is comput... moreIt's Twitter, of course the photos are compressed. I don't see your point here.

I don't blame you for wanting to glorify an old camera and believe it was better than it actually was, but no - I don't think an old superzoom camera from the 2000s with a type 1/2.3 sensor would ever beat a modern smartphone in terms of pure image quality unless you're just talking about the zoom range.

"why Xperia doesnt have circular bokeh"
Because its telephoto camera uses a rectangular D-cut lens. In your video the bokeh balls were looking wildly distorted because of this, but to be fair rectangular/asymmetrical bokeh highlights are pretty common among all the phones that use periscope lenses.
