I don't know why Sony doesn't increase screen size to 6.8 or 6.9" .

Anton .el PAPI., 13 May 2024obviously not, having been 6.7 6.8 right now I have 6.7 🤷‍♂... moreTry a 6.5" phone, I doubt you can tell the difference.

5V wasn't available in USA. What sales numbers of 5V vs IV do you have? ;)

4K 19,5:9 would still be very costly , even more now that revenue is lower because of 5v sales were much lower than 5iv

I Am GoD 9, 13 May 2024It didnt run 4k 24/7 anyways- QHD 1440p even 1080p is fine ... moreIt always runs with all the subpixels turned on. Pentile OLED resolution doesn't turn off subpixels but it rather groups them differently when resolution goes down instead of native. Subpixels on 1V display are so tiny that no matter how they group them they produce the sharpest image available on the mobile display market.

I'm sorry to say but 720p on Moto is not good enough, neither is FHD+ on S24. It simply isn't because those displays can't render tiny text and details without blurry edges. Maybe you have noticed that text rendering on FHD+ displays is always huge compared to QHD+ displays. That's because rendering is adjusted to display DPI. Apple's new iPad Pros with new OLED displays will suffer the same issue with it's miserable 215 DPI because subset of pixels in mobile OLED is nowhere close to miniLED they've used.

justasmile, 13 May 2024You’re alone in that opinion. Also have you tried any 6.5” ... moreobviously not, having been 6.7 6.8 right now I have 6.7 🤷‍♂️ soon I will go to 6.8 but not with Samsung

I just want another compact version. I still have my old Xperia compact and I would still be using it if ATT didn't block its use.

make XPeria 10 VI as short as the S24 with battery endurance as long as XPeria 10 V and I'll sell my S24... it's time for Sony to ditch that weird aspect ratio.

Bravosixgoingdark, 13 May 2024Sony finally seems to be taking their Xperia marketing team... moreThey've been using this awful marketing style for the past 2-3 years. Now with this phone they're dividing their current consumers once again by removing 21:9 & 4K (if the rumors are true). Watch their mobile sales drop even further this year.

21:9 is the best aspect ratio for phone, and I hope to get back on it. Maybe with Xperia Pro...

I can personally live without 4K resolution since very few apps natively supports it in the first place. But ditching that 21:9 screen has to be a big mistake. Most people only think of it for cinema video, but it's also a blast to do screen splitting with it as there's more vertical space to have when doing screen splitting in Portrait mode.

Learning a new language is hard VERY difficult especially for us adults.

So I say this with utmost respect as I too am learning (spanish) a new language. For the love of God please have so.wone with. Few years of experience speaking in English if done - more specifically either pronunciation of vowels and consanents in words (very difficult especially from those whom speak a language using the opposite hemisphere of the brain all their lives: trust me it's an amazing feat to accomplish that amazes me; respectfully).

The ONLY reason I say this is because it makes such a launch event easier to watch and listen through and the details are much more easily absorbed. Makes an event enjoyable vs boring and drowned out. I will still listen intently, yet some may lack the respect and patience.

I don't care about accents as that is awesome. But pronunciation of the words can get confusing. Again respectfully.

Good. That 21:9 was horrible for watching 16:9 content. Hope they bring back the notification led.

What does 21:9 have to do with this? If you actually read the article you’ll know what we’re talking about.

It didnt run 4k 24/7 anyways- QHD 1440p even 1080p is fine for these size devices.
Heck, the Moto G 5G 2024 has a 720p display and it looks damn good! Like I'm shocked how good the display is!!!

Also the wider aspect ratio is appreciated. I enjoyed talking on the narrower device, and hated typing on it, so much so it caused physical discomfort, fatigue, and irritation. Can't have both I guess, too narrow to type!
