Improve the battery (to ~150% than the 8 series) and I'll grab it

I think you would need to relax your criteria a little bit, if you wish to upgrade.

Personally, I have 6" (152.4mm) as my cutoff. Apple, Samsung and Google - all have options within that limit.

Anonymous, 14 May 2024You need to get your eyes checked asap. Not talking about the design 😉

I am not very convinced about the veracity of these leaks. But if true, Pixel 9 pro seems to be the most interesting phone of the lineup. It doesn't seem to be lacking in any feature compared to its bigger sibling.

Pixel 9 and 9 Pro XL seem to be an incremental update in terms of internals (Tensor G4, 4GB extra RAM), while camera hardware seems to be largely unchanged. Given that I prefer the design language of 8 series slightly better, these models don't excite me much.

By the way, the leaked display measurements of the three models are as under:

        Pixel 9 - 6.24" - 1080 x 2424 - 425 ppi
        Pixel 9 Pro - 6.34" - 1280 x 2856 - 493 ppi
        Pixel 9 Pro XL - 6.73" - 1344 X 2992 - 487 ppi

I'm surprised that I'm the only one here that dislikes the new camera design. It just looks off. The design starts going downhill after the 6.

I think, Tensor G4 is manufactured by Samsung and Tensor G5 would be manufactured by TSMC.

Is there any improvement in G4 regard to heat management and battery drain.

Its a shame they're getting rid of the visor style for the camera unit at the back for a typical "island" style were used to seeing on other devices. Seems it's turning into just another glass sandwich with no personality.

If specs are same for Pro and Pro XL, i would prefer Pro version. Tired of carrying very big phones just for the features. Hope Pro version gets decent battery.

Why tf there's no LiDar still by now? It'll help improve portrait mode. Those temperature sensors are useless.
