More like a USD 1300 or even more.
if you don't like that price, you always have a choice in brands that produce a large series of phones and therefore have more favorable prices, but you won't have some functions that only Xperia has. The choice is there for us.
Sony produces phones in really small ammount. It can't get to Chinese brands pricing who make EVERYTHING in their homeland and in mega giga tera quantity. It just can't. Noone can except another Chinese brand.

I like the red but I'd rather have the 4K screen, even if it's "4K***". The best thing about Sony's phones was that they always did their own thing instead of copying Apple or Samsung, and now it feels like that's going away.

First "red" Xperia since Xperia XZ Premium I believe.
Looks really good and I like how now the camera modules are painted in the color of the phone. They are not black anymore.

The only phone left (probably) with dual front facing speakers, 3.5mm headphone jack, and microsd slot. Only led notification light is missing. I really wish manufacturers can redesign led notification like old xperia z1. Its really subtle, cool, and elegant without needing bezel
