The original iPhone probably costed as much as what would be nowadays $1500 or so. It was extremely expensive. So expensive, that it got multiple price drops throughout its life cycle until the iPhone 3G, which was cheaper because it didn’t change much besides adding 3G and also had a plastic back to reduce the price further, replaced it. Compared to the original iPhone, the iPhone 15 Pro seems like a bargain.

Anonymous, 20 May 2024Honestly, this will destroy Android sales in the USA. Since previous SE sales have not done much to the market share in the US, I doubt this one (being more expensive than the last, as rumored) will make much of a dent.

A phone is a phone & it's a liability,an unnecessary expense except for some pro users/creators that benefit that can fully take advantage of flagship components & performance.
These days $400 phones get enough performance for 4+ years,especially true for previous year flagships available on sales.

It will be a proper flagship killer if it brings an ultrawide camera and usable screen. OLED, at least 1080p, HDR10/DV and so on.
They can use A17 Pro, A16, A15, whatever. As long as it's faster than E1480, idc.

Do yourself a favor and just buy pro models. Yes it is expensive but you buy it once and not every day. You can use it 5 years or more. Think about that.

Anonymous, 20 May 2024Honestly, this will destroy Android sales in the USA. I feel like it’ll increase apples market share in US but not by much as it’s already dominating everyone else there.
This SE might be more beneficial to up their market share in other countries instead, especially the ones where people don’t have as much buying power. It will be the choice for those who can’t/don’t want to spend as much money for the base/pro ones while still want to experience ios for a much better price, even if those countries tax them.
However this will depend on their specs too as current SE is just way too bad to justify that $430 price so it didn’t see much success (if any). It has an excellent chipset but everything else sucked.
