A few days ago we heard that the Z Flip6 will also have a less noticeable crease than its predecessor.

Considering the Open is more expensive than the Fold with 3rd rate components and software, yeah I stand my case. Oppo price premium is to pay influencers. The Fold is what people actually buy.

I have yet to see major complaints of the Fold/Flip 5 series. Considering Samsung received MIL certification for their foldable panels, I expect them to be even more durable on the 6 series.

But if you prefer paying more for Oppo's 3rd rate hardware, be my guest. You will at least be unique since nobody's buying them LOL.

The other folds simply widen the curve so the panel folds like a "U" instead of a "V". That spreads the crease making it appear more shallow, but it's still there and their crease still gets worse over time. Samsung's crease basically stays the same following a month or two. You're folding plastic so this simply come down to physics.

No fold manufacturer has figured out how to fold a thin glastic/plastic panel without leaving a mark where it folds. I'm not sure anyone from any industry has.

It looks so lit! Please add an S Pen inside! (this could genuinely replace a school tablet if it had a built-in pen 🤯)

Also wdym by 3rd grade components? It's not like Samsung uses any better component than Oppo/1+, lol.

They still didn't solve the crease? I got three different solutions for this and all of them cheap and effective, and they have whole lot of engineers whith only one solution! I'm an engineer two but still? In 2024?

Then, everything can improve, I have had all the folds on the market and one criticism of Samsung is that it has lived on its own merits without changing it for the better.

So basically, they launched a phone with problems (such as the crease screen), then released other phones to address this particular problem as innovations.

Huawei and Honor models are not sold in many regions.
Oppo/OnePlus is simply 3rd grade components sold at premium to pay up influencers.

Samsung still rules in foldables because of software. None of the competitors can give something like Dex. People spending this much money for a foldable are using it to make more money, as such it has to be a real productivity machine. I actually see many Samsung Folds in the wild. Meanwhile, nobody's buying the Oppo Find N3, and even those Oppo influencers immediately switch to iPhone/Samsung once their deal with Oppo is done.

If the camera island design is accurate, it will attract dust.

The display is covered by a single piece of continuous glass. What you're explaining would require them to glue glass onto each end, magically hide the super visible edges that would create and at the same time be super accurate aligning three separate pieces, millions of times, in a factory. It would make the phone impossibly expensive and the crease would be so weak it would break the first time you use the S Pen on it.

And contrary to popular believe, competition is not good for the customer. Competition creates better products, which in turn makes your gadgets obselete sooner.

People cry about Intel having used their 14nm node for a decade. Bit I loved it. You basically could use all software and games without having to pay for upgrades.

Where this greedy desire for unnecessary updates comes from is beyond me.
