                Apple goes down the less is more route when it comes to default processing which is actually the best approach since its easier to add more processing after the fact but its almost impossible to subtract it if its baked in the file.

Like seriously, 6 years ago I would vomit at the thought of going for an iPhone but now, with updates, there are so many new features that make it so close to android that I can now actually think of Apple as a solid option. Like, android manufacturers are mostly copying Apple's software features, kinda sad now.

                        Every year the hardware gets better, but the Pixel consistently takes better photos; thus proving hardware is all but irrelevant if the software can’t take advantage of it.

                              this is confuse..to get 2 new camera ? or will reduced to 2 new camera.. Sound like the 16pro going to follow XP 10' V footstep throwing out the telep lense. Yes now 2024 ,removing camera lense is new trend and the price keep going up.Nothing benefit the consumer.

                                Tim Cook has got to go. Apple needs a new leadership

                                  When you fit a decent Ultrawide camera module to any phone it should not be so wide that it cannot be used for sweep panoramas like the main camera. If it cannot be so used, then IMHO it is a waste of our money.
                                  Additionally it really does need to be a true 48MP resolution, not a fake one that has merely 12MP and is quad bayer because the more of a scene your lens takes in, the more detail it needs to be able to record.
                                  My 16mm ultrawide on my 2018 LG7 outclasses ALL ultrawides because it can do ultrawide sweep panoramas. It can see a true 16mm (35mm full format lens field of view yet extend it over a complete 360 degrees yielding images with a pixel height of up to 3610 pixels: the physical height of any three HD resolution monitors or one and a half 4K resolution monitors of any physical size, because it has true 16MP sensor resolution.
                                  Apple years late to the game, should now easily be able to manage that, but I do hope they have an excellent lens and a 1” true 48MP sensor - easily doable as the Lumia 1020 had 41MP and was not as big a sensor as the even older Pureview 808 Nokia.
                                  IF they insist on another 12mm-14mm lens, please add it as an extra ultrawide as it cannot be used for panoramas due to its inherent excessive falloff and distortion.

                                      Space is not an issue.
                                      Small batteries for their size saves huge space.

                                      1/1.5" exmor T > 1/1.28" exmor RS
                                      1/2.9" exmor T > 1/2" exmor RS
                                      1/2.5" exmor T = 1/1.56" exmor RS

                                      Problem solved.
