Nokia should have upgraded symbian to Android/IOS standards. I think many of u will agree to that? WP is just squeezing a f@@k load of cash from Nokia.
I was a die hard fan of Nokia( still own the N8). Now i only use my SGS3 and SGN8000.

I have read the article again and it does seem Nokia is been stifled by Microsoft therefore Nokia is stuck..If this clause of not allowing Nokia to use any other O/S is true then they are both stifling each other..

Nokia made a mistake by exclusively using the WP OS.
While there are aspects of WP8 that are appealing, Microsoft's repeated abandonment of their customers when it comes time to update products (looking at you Lumia 900 and your half-assed WP7.8 update), closed eco-system (like Apple), and limited hardware support (no quad core, 1080p, etc) is a deal killer. Also I own a Windows 8 laptop, and the OS sucks. I am on my phone way more than my laptop, why would I trust them to do any better with their mobile OS?
I would buy an android powered Lumia in a heartbeat, especially if it had pureview technology.

agree with this analysis. The only reason I am holding a samsung device is for Android, the moment Nokia Joins Android my palm will get a new feel in-sha-allah.

But you fail to understand that at 2003 when windows for phones came out there was no other OS that was competing with windows, so windows started to set the bar for other smartphones in their own way. So when android came in they have had the advantage of hindsight keeping in mind that android was not an instant hit at 2007, it started getting popular around late 2010; 2011. Google had symbian, IOS, and Blackberry OS to learn from and therefore they revolutionized the whole OS technology taking alot of its style and look from IOS. Thats why android is so popular, cuz of its resemblance to Iphones (knowing that iphones were the most popular thing around that 2007 till now). In the case of windows they also had the privileged of hindsight and brought in windows phone 7 and 8, they wanted to be unique and not follow the status quo of android or ios, with a little time windows will pick up after it brings out new versions of its windows phone.

Either Nokia need to buckle down and get Windows 8 up to scratch or consider one of the newer O/S ie Sailfish, Firefox or Meego restart.

I'm hoping they wa... moreI think people want Nokia or Microsoft to get off their backsides and get the W8 platform up to scratch with alternatives music players with reverb or video players etc..It would be nice to have more flexibility even file manager..Its been what 3 years now and Android was more advanced at this stage but the trouble as far as i know is its Microsoft limitations..
Money is not the problem so what is? I want to go W8 but without apps i want like surround sound and reverb (even paid for i always support devs)then i cant leave Samsung with their concert hall setting...There are many wanting their fave apps free or paid for but W8 is not supporting these wishes..I had W710 which is old now but the amount of presses to do something felt unecessary also.
I always like/love and support Nokia since 1998 but W8 needs just that bit more yet before i swap.

windows 8 shares bed with hts..sammy..even with huweii and cheats on NOKIA..

Here in the middle east no one uses WP8 phone all are moving towards IOS or Android so it's so clear that WP8 has failed on so many levels and didn't prove it's self with it handicapped functions so lame in my opinion ..
