If Nokia use/not use android also. no probs. still i love nokia. still i use nokia N8 which is symbian^3 OS. even i like few windows lumia phones too. nokia is always great with its hardware.

I never was a big fan of nokia phones (however i was dying to get my hands on 5110 ages ago) but have to agree that going for android could save them. WP isnt that bad but in my eyes it is in same place as iOS (which ive never used) what means limitations which nobody likes..
Truth is i had nokia lumia 800 running wp7.8 and have to admit it was running perfectly smooth i rally liked tiles (best looking os imo) but after 2 months ive sold it... why? I needed to send a pdf file and i couldnt attach it to the mail... also there was few more annoying things so instead of getting lumia 920 as i planned ive git note 2... not so smooth sometimes, but it is just... smarter.
If nokia goes with android i will get one, if they get anything in xl size.

Symbian is much better than Android n Win Phone.

Both of them couldn't be recognised even in close up.. 1100 : so why dont you divorce ? Android : yes I've decided and i tried to call my lawyer yesterday... I've dialed his first number and now waiting it to appear on the screen..! 1100 : any how good luck. But foot show off that your phone is waterproof by keeping it inside a aquarium.. Android : no you dont understand.. My phone is only waterproof not airproof.. 1100 : ok ! See you later.. Android : good bye to you too.. Dont forget east or west android is the best (shi-t) Android (to himself): arrgh ! I hate stephen elop.. He's the reason for all this.. Other wise nokia would've made android phones :-(

Yes agree. And IMO smartphone should be smart enough to take decision on behalf of you and not vice versa. So .... :)
Joke apart, at the end battery life matters and on theory (may be) WP and iOS6 (iOS7 yet to see) handles it very well. Also WP have background tasks which executes after every 30mins or so (slightly improved in WP8). Plus Geo Location tracking API which runs fully in background (limitation only 1 app). Also there are two application level APIs that allow application to run even under lockscreen(not in background) without any limitation.
So yes as i said 90% of multitasking can be easily achieved and few more supports coming in near future (hopefully).

Is the onoy system with future potential, also can be optimized to do what symbian already does, but under a new interface and with more apps. Still, this new os's need to learn one thing: true multitasking. My n8 can open more then 15 apps. All live, no pause, no linitation, no nothing. 808 can multitask more then 30. That is what i call true multitasking, also one of the only true option that separates a smartphone from a future phone this days.

But, every mobile OS allows stuff running in the background.
iOS/WP8 - audio/voip/push etc..
Android - services.
Only difference is android do not have restriction on what is allowed to be run in the background.. with no interface of easily controlling these services.
Good: Choice
Bad: Waste battery
iOS and WP8 make the choice for you.
Good: Save battery
Bad: No choice
