Well if the add 99% discount they could be most sold devices on the market and finaly apple will have the price it deserves for its specs, design and everything else.
Anything bigger than 99% discount means hige overpricing especially in china where Huawei, Xiaomi, Oppo, Vivo, Realme, Meizu, Polestar and many else chinese brands makes much better phones in every single aspect.

Most probably because a lot of them switched to android, getting tired of beeing robbed by apple, but then beeing lazy and unwillig to learn plus apple not allowing to switch when you are way over your knees inside apple jailsystem (don't bother to contradict, that is not an ecosystem), they switched back to apple, and now are happy again with beeing robbed and lied to. It is actually very interesting how people can be controlled, one learns a lot out of this.

Apple can afford to offer $320 discount because without discount the profit margin is in the range of $500-600. Now you can calculate how much percent is profit when top end phone cost around $1500.

In both cases the completely different UI takes some time to get used to and most people are going to get annoyed when things don't work how they expect. So a lot of people prefer to stick to what they know.
