telestarcomgsm, 30 May 2024How common is dual sim usage there?Plenty of people have a dual sim phone.
One sim they use for work and other for family and friends.
We are tiny country like 5,5 million of people on a size of 450 kilometers from east to west and like 250 kilometers from north to south. Other countries on borders. Poland on north, Czechia on east, Austra south east, Hungary sounthy and west border with Ukraine. We have no sea just few lakes and High Tatras mountains. Good people but plenty have unstable behavior. Big prices in shops, high rent, high bills and taxes and one of lowest salaries among all EU countries but still i like it here.
The beauty of our small country is the best and the greeedy mafia rulling government is the worst we have. Even a 100 nature dissasters would do less damage than our government but whathewer. If you cant beat them ignore them.

            Well monopoly everywhere.
Glad we have 4 major options in Slovakia and like 6 minor options with better prices but bad coverage for most villages and towns excluding capitol where i live. There is no problem with signal maybe in city centre when you are covered by scyscrappers.
But among all 4 major network carriers Orange, T Mobile, O2 and Stvorka only last two are worth.
Irange and T Mobile are super greedy giving crumbles and dust for huge money they asking for their services. No thanks.

They name changed to modern ones like 20 years ago.
Now we have 4 major network carriers along with O2 and number 4 called Stvorka (4 is name of the network carrier) and like 6 minor ones not very popular but have great prices.
All i can say the Telecom and Orange are disgusting from beggining the worse thing is you have to pay even you made zero calls or texts.
But who cares. Back in 1996 had said Globtell now Orange and when O2 came to slovakia in 2008 i switched for a lot better deals and prices.
Said Orange and T Mobile is nothing but a robbery on a customer.

They told me that they're going to block my mother's phone because it's time for her to buy a new one. It has 4g."

Scummy practice. That clerk is borderline stupid. On top of telling that your device is "illegal", they want to block a number so they can squeeze extra money out of you. Carriers don't have Sony or OnePlus because they're not in a contract/deal with that, which I approve of. Anyway, don't buy a phone FROM a carrier. Buy a used iPhone SE (3rd gen) and put that on a prepaid carrier like Visible by Verizon The nerve of some people nowadays. SMH. There's no way they can get away with blocking a number because the phone is 4G only. 4G is perfectly fine and reasonably fast for most users, unless your a (hardcore) gamer or sending large files ever waking second.

So many people here have no idea what they're talking about as always.

US Cellular is a fairly small regional carrier. That's why they only have 4.4 million customers, which is smaller than many MVNOs. Due to their lack of nationwide spectrum, they've been on the decline for years, and were widely expected to go bankrupt soon. I'm not a fan of T-Mobile at the moment for raising rates on their legacy plans (even though they've promised many times that they would never do such a thing), but between a bankruptcy auction and a buyout, a buyout is better for all involved parties especially consumers.

Why the h us allow this provider to buy out every other cellular provider? What next? Buying every other provider in the US until t-mobile is the only one?

Some Anonymous Prson, 29 May 2024Who do you suggest? How difficult is it to switch and how d... moreLuckily, you can port your old numbers to a new carrier.
And if you look at the MVNOs, even the ones provided by the big carriers themselves, they do have decent value. You do have to do your homework first. Figure out how much data you need in a month and how many lines you have. Check the MVNOs like Visible (Verizon) or USMobile, and read up how to port your numbers to them.
