Tall narrow screen when folded so you can browse social media more efficiently. And wide screen for content like websites, gaming, etc. It serves different purposes.

If someone prefers a more traditional front display, then they should buy those foldables with the traditional aspect ratios. Otherwise those who see the benefits of long displays will buy this. Both types of foldable designs deserve to exist.

      I am so happy that Samsung didn't follow stupid requests from Youtubers who never used Z Fold 5 longer than one day, and also requests from all other "not-users". Instead, Samsung listened to their real users who know why the Z Fold 5 has the perfect shape.
      It is great that they made the cover screen a bit wider "without" changing the inner screen and the overall format. The (alleged) fact that it will be thinner as well, is good but was not necessary from my point of view. I hope the reduced weight won’t negatively impact the Flex Mode.

          There is NO increase in screen size, just edges are trimmed. Definitely not upgrading if this is fold 6.

              It should be known that majority of people who bought a phone in this pricing is only looking from the brand. That's it. No matter how better a OnePlus, Oppo, Vivo, Xiaomi, etc. compared to Samsung and iPhone, Samsung and iPhone will still sales more, but doesn't Samsung and iPhone are better than it's competitor lol.

I still think the cover screen is better for most games, that's why I want a bigger one but with corners like the Honor Magic V2. That one I tested using it closed and it's so much better

The Pixel and Open's market share wasn't even on the map when 2023 sales were released recently. They probably didn't even sell 25k between the two of them.

                        If you think Samsung should learn from someone, it should be from a winner. If One Plus/Oppo was winning, they wouldn't skip an entire year.

                            These bezels are fine, dare i say beautiful. But the ones on the 8a are horrendous even for the 400 to 500 use price

                                    rounded corners are not fit for folding phones for the sake of symmetry. one side has to have a sharp corner due to hinge and inner screen. so, since you will have one sharp edge, you better match both edges.
