Samsung's bulk of sales comes during the release. Last year, it was Oppo that outsold Samsung in Q1. I don't recall any articles claiming Oppo was king of foldables, ironically.
Anyhow, Huawei has an excellent foldable, but the fact sales are up when there might be an X6 on the way probably tells us people are taking advantage of falling prices. This is a $2000+ phone. Not a $1600-$1800 phone we just round up to make a point. It's legitimately a $2,200+ phone. If they pull this off in July through the end of '24, then I will be highly impressed, but we all know that won't happen.

Motorola 40 Plus release 3 months before thr Flip 5 so their bump is directly due to the falling prices being more significant and clearing out inventory. Trust me that lead will NOT last long at all, watch a more significant drop next quarter.

Of course this is bait for silly people. Because of course, Samsung gets the majority of it's sales from Fold ends Flip in the 2 quarters after they are RELEASED (Q3+ Q4).. Obviously if the other company released a foldable recently, they are going to get a huge slice of sales in THAT quarter lol.
This would be news.. if it was the full YEAR.

No one talks about the real reason which is actually boosting their sales
The reason there are huge lines outside Huawei stores is because the government has subsidised Huawei phones
People are getting 30 - 50% money back when they buy Huawei phones, a lot of people have uploaded receipts showing that they got around 3666RMB back

Well, that doesn't make sense anyway but Huawei is much better in my opinion, they have contributed to many smartphone innovations, especially in the camera department and they have invented 5G. They are so innovative, even mighty USA had to intervene to keep western illusion of superiority alive.

Samsung have been felt to secure and comfy since US kicked Huawei in 2018 around.
My favorite phone ever was Mate 20X and damn i still miss the feeling, the awesome optimized phone in most ways premium felling and so on.
Every year since then I had Samsung Note or Ultra, right now I have S24 Ultra, but still miss Huawei Mate serie.
But i make a fool of my self, this year I promised my self to take a huge break from Samsung, but then the flat display came on S24U and could not live without it, but then I have a phone with minor, minor upgrades, slow charging etc.
No matter what people say many Chinese brands release awesome phones and I'm sure in a few years their software and circle of system updates will raise. Then we have the talk around the chip race in China to.
Then Chinese phones will kick most others... But then I'm sure we will see US ban all Chinese mobile brands.
But for me next year I will get my self a Huawei phone again.

Present z fold 6 with 3 y.o. camera hardware, at least 2 year outdated hinge mechanism and 95% of identical specs to fold 5, which already had 95% of identical specs to fold 4?

Everyone BUT Samsung made a GAIN. Moto made an outrageous but impressive 1470% increase, Honor with 460, Huawei with 257% and others with 23%. Samsung snagged a decrease of 42%.
W Motorola though. They went to less than 1% to over 10!

Samsung rested on their laurels for too long, hardly introducing new features or changing the designs of their foldables from one generation to the next while the competition has been working hard to outdo them, The decline in Samsung's foldable sales was only a matter of time.
