It's going to be the cheapest option in the portfolio.

EskeRahn, 04 Jun 2024Almost 5mm is indeed a large bezel-ring in 2024. BUT due... moreThe thing is, the bezels are thick mostly due to the fact that everyone else, including Samsung with their Watch5 and 6, have far thinner bezels. This watch looks like it was MADE to be an upsell. Samsung's greed never ceases to disgust me. The new CEO has taken everything good about the company away. The company was great till the S21 Ultra/Note20 Ultra days. The Z Fold 2 felt like it was 2 generations ahead of everyone else and the other phones were damn near perfect even for the high prices of flagships (remember the A52s 5G?).

Oh and btw great design, looks cool af!

I’m just wondering if it’ll come with AOD.

jiyen235, 04 Jun 2024those bezels are thicker than me during quarantine, yikes.Almost 5mm is indeed a large bezel-ring in 2024.

BUT due to the way round displays are offered with connection to the side and not under the display, they can not currently eliminate the bezels completely.

A workaround was done by Motorola with the flat-tire design, that actually was a clever solution, and certainly better than a (needles!) bezel all the way round. But to work well it requires imagination to make watch faces that USES the constantly black part as part of the design.

Another workaround would be to make a traditional 'round' watch case, where the case itself is not just round, due to the band attachment arms, and use one of these 'corners'.

Let me guess: 15mm thick at the protrusion...

Anonymous, 04 Jun 2024Fate of every real smartwatch running WearOS or WatchOS. ... moreMeanwhile Ticwatch pro 5 refresh lasts longer than the original from last year. I get 5 days out of my old 5.The OnePlus watch can do 3 days with similar usage. It's just a matter of not falling for the usual marketing tricks.. articles, comments, social media, it's all fair game for big business looking for
          something to sway investors.

Why should I buy this when I can buy a brand new Watch6 that its price should be decreasing?

So, they are re-releasing watches from the past and yet, in the same time, shut down Tizen support watches after only a few years for some watches that works perfectly fines but will be crippled by technology over time.
              Sad.

Anonymous, 04 Jun 2024Fate of every real smartwatch running WearOS or WatchOS. ... morePeople seem to confuse Fitness Tracker and Smartwatch more and more these days.
Huawei Watch GT2 was not a smartwatch, it was a fitness tracker in the form of a watch, that explains the ridiculous battery life of 10 days. Huawei Watch GT3 actually was a smartwatch and guess what - the battery dropped to 3 days.

Samsung is no exception to this - Galaxy Watch5 Pro (a smartwatch) gets 3 days of battery, while Galaxy Fit3 (a fitness tracker) gets 13 days.

Sites like GSMArena should really put some effort into educating people on this matter.

But with Samsung the prices drop too quickly to do the same thing, this will be the same fiasco like with S23 FE that launched at 100 euro more than S23 was at that time.

And even now the S23 FE after super heavy discounts is still just 20 euro less than S23 is now.

The more they can do the worse the battery life.

I am the last person out there that would complain about large bezels.

But holy mother of bezels, Samsung thinks they can repeat the blunder Pixel Watch 1 made and get away with it.

FE of the watch doesn't make any sense at all, regular Watch 6 was already around 210 euro after 2 months of release, same with Watch 5 and 4, their watches drop like a rock in prices quickly.

1 day battery life watches are crap. Tizen watches were brilliant on battery life, yet they unsupport them. What is the point of a "smart" watch when it relies on cloud services to operate? Just get a cheapo Fitbit that'll do most of the stuff for cheaper and longer.

those bezels are thicker than me during quarantine, yikes.
