Anonymous, 05 Jun 2024There is no fight in nm for server chips.Efficiency specially power usage definitely accounts to it, the smaller nm the more efficient with less power, less heat, less requirement for cooling & knowing intel, its always 2x their advertised power, meaning their supposedly 250w is actually 500w or more.

Intel is Doomed and whatever crap they used to own at Computex was few engineering slides about upcoming Lunar Lake slated to launch during Holidays of 2026 those massive IPC gain promises were for this lunar Lake and there was no mention about Arrow Lake aka 15th gen which is about to release later this year because they are not confident🤭

Makes total sense for multi thread heavy servers. I have always wondered what would happen if one simply pushed the number of efficiency cores. Can't wait for the benches.

For you at home to play games and watch videos on a cheaper then intel computer? Yes of course, but that's about it with their market share. And nope, i do not dislike AMD, i am actually happy that they finally breaked out of the "curse" and we have again good competition. Some here, tough, aparently dislike competition as they behave like some neanderthals when it comes to tech, not understanding how important real competition is...

Servers for what, for internet of things? You mean those mini boxes called hubs? I am actually talking about Servers as maschines that sustain more VMs then you can imagine. AMD is better for you to play "lady ganjin in her impact" probably, and for most trolls here, but that is also just because is cheaper. As soon as intel gets it's cores cheaper, sudently intel is better, been there, seen that, way to many times to care. My interests now are to get the work done, not to do some synthethic benchmarks and brag about two points higher.

AMD great too well I hear that. I've never seen myself. Maybe their theradscammer but I need to really see it working.

Arm-based AWS only has a 3% market share for the data centres. Even for mainframe IBM's Z series are CISC-based architecture. Those puny arm cores can't handle vastly complex and superior calculations for data centres. Let's not talk about supercomputers. Saying all these Intel is leading by far.
