Intel is dead. Long live AMD !

so, with that much E cores, instead of sucking off 500w, it'd suck about 490w...

Anonymous, 04 Jun 2024Maybe this will even remotely threaten AMD, although I high... moreThese are better than AMD only at very specific workloads, and this is only when compared to AMD's current releases EPYC processors. Plus, they're more expensive than almost all of AMD's entire lineup. Combine that with the fact that AMD's upcoming (and in fact already announced) EPYC chip that uses 192 Zen 5c cores (which also have hyperthreading, unlike Intel) will definitely crush it across everything, and this suddenly doesn't look good. Still, architecture-wise, it has very low power consumption levels compared to before and seems like it's more power efficient, so Intel seems to be slowly gaining back their ground. In the long run, Intel will be back at the top of their game, but for now this'll barely threaten AMD.
