Show me one phone that’s less than 180g with a 6000mAh battery. I looked it up for you, it does not exist. https://m.gsmarena.com/results.php3?nWeightMax=180&nBatCapacityMin=6000 It is not possible with todays batteries. Maybe in 3-4 years, because battery density improves slightly every year. And no I would not buy a phone with 230g weight, I thought it was pretty obvious that I care about weight in a phone. You list the mAh while disregarding several factors
- typical vs average mAh. If a manufacturer advertises 5000mAh, that’s more like 4800mAh. Because Apple does not advertise mAh, the real value is taken
- Wh is a better metric to compare capacity because it does not depend on voltage
- iPhone Pro models use titanium which is heavier than aluminum.
- at least the 15 Pro 6.1in model is significantly smaller than 99% of smartphones on the market
Apple does not use a „inferior“ battery chemistry compared to all other manufacturers to save a few Pennies. If you look at the whole picture it‘s basically matched, and it‘s possible that Apple limits the voltage range at which the battery turns of and charges up to, in order to reduce degradation, because they expect their users to keep their phone longer than competitors. Or at least that they are in use for longer, which is true when you look at how iPhones hold their value used compared to competitors

Pumpino, 06 Jun 20246.9" for a phone? Seriously? You shouldn't be too worried Becuase it's probably not the size of the screen getting affected but the height only like the s20 ultra and note 10 plus

No you don’t have to do that. You can just hold the power button and one of the volume buttons. And if that is not possible, you can also easily do it in settings.

Judging by your comment, you haven’t used an iPhone since said 6S and only up until maybe iOS 11

6.3" on the pro is the sweetest spot of the screen size, I think. Good move.

Apple has the best reputation for keeping their secret, so I cannt believe any leaks of Apple products.

16 Pro shouldn't be bigger than 6.3", the phone's compactness would be gone otherwise, what is necessary for that phone is a larger battery. The Pro series is terrible compared to the other phones. Nearly everyone complains about its battery life and rightfully so, it needs 200-400 mah more

People like yourself would buy a smartphone with a 3500 mah liFEpo4 battery chemistry and be confused as to why the phone weighs 230g

Battery chemistry matters more over mah size

Screen so big, CPU so powerful, yet can only run 1 app per time.. no split screen, no floating windows.

Since iOS 18 is AI focus.. What does the extra screen size increase give? Nothing.

What about bring back landscape mode for apps to allow more functionality like iPads? (like those of iPhone 6S Plus)? Nothing.

What is the justification on the size increase?

If you want to say it is for simplicity, iPhone users are casual users.. have to make it simple.
But when you have to PRESS volume up, volume down.. follow by power button JUST to turn off the phone.. tell me.. how does a casual person know that? On top of that, now it is rumoured that you add another "action button" adding to the complexity.

I say iOS18 focus on AI is just to provide hype, not any great use to its customers.
