Wow one of the Worst WWDC release ever IMO...some homescreen icons, calculator app (hahah generations later), additional spyware packaged as fruit intelligence...and that's it? At this point in time when Apple is facing such flak?
The VisionOS "update" is the biggest punch to the face. People have paid thousands of shinny greens for this thing and there is still no "spacial computing" system that will allow you to pin screens in AR. No support for non fruit devices either...I don't know man, this is pathetic for a so called company that "waits to release something when they know it's polished" like the hardcore fangurls froth at the mouth every now and then. Just gonna stay with my outdated non M chips Apple phone & iPad for now, not impressed with this AIBS.

The first step into a decent day-to-day-intelligence would be, when I would be able to connect an iPhone 16 Pro Max to an external 16:9 monitor and have all iOS screens and installed apps available in a useable layout (not that pillar-boxed / letter-boxed crap of current IPhones). It is rediculous how Office Apps, File Apps, PDF Apps and others are currently shown on a connected external monitor. As long as this isn't fulfilled, Apple has nothing to do with whatever kind of intelligence. They are too stupid to even cover the most simple foundation of "productivity" on their iPhones. What a shame!

"According to rumors, Apple will be redefining the AI acronym to stand for "Apple Intelligence" rather than "Artificial Intelligence"."
Hahaha. So Apple.

More marketing bullshit for gullible people. Apple didn't invent anything. They should name it Google Intelligence instead if they want to name it by the inventor's name.

Anton .el PAPI., 09 Jun 2024your correct comment at the beginning! Telephones no longer... moreNot 10-15 but with 5-10 years I'm more enclined because I feel the same and the glass roof that we reached of perfomance is the proof of that, all the maker needs to be making refinements now... Specially in battery and camera whereas theses areas can be improved :)

Not much going on there, they will use those who jump on the latest devices to try the stuff out so Apple can sharpen everything later.
Come to think of it, it’s a lot like the same approach they took with the Vision Pro, rely on hardcore fans to buy a $3.5k glorified dev kit to beta-test their unfinished and incomplete “spatial computing” thing.

I feel like the hype around smartphones has slowed down compared to 10-15 years ago. However, I still feel like it‘s maybe the most important tech device in most people‘s life, so I welcome big efforts in their operating systems. Android directly from Google has been very disappointing in that regard, the only ones really caring are some skin makers like Samsung or the Chinese. But I feel the monolithic approach of Apple with iOS has been beneficial, and the features seem well thought out in that they don’t need to change them again every year, but instead expand what is already there. So I hope iOS 18 continues with new features and refinements while maintaining reliability (hopefully better than iOS 17 and especially iOS 16) as well as continued support for older devices.
