Anonymous, 23 Jun 2024In what sense does an OLED display affect the health of an ... morePWM flickering affects a lot of people including myself, If you are one of those who's not affected, consider yourself lucky. It is the sole reason why many people like me use IPS panels for productivity and try hard to avoid buying OLED display phones

The deal-breaker for me is iOS as when you have an M2 or M4 chip and a great screen you should be able to have Apple install whichever flavour of OSX YOU fancy, like Monterey or Ventura or Sonoma or Sequoia because without OSX you CANNOTsuccessfully use the iPadPro!! THere are reasons. Try it with a mouse? Can you right-click on the mouse? NO! So you cannot rightclick on a junk email and delete it at all. You have to see it first and as recent experience shows iOS 17... is not secure, as I got hammered by an email phishing threat claiming it had installed Pegasus (Israeli spyware) on all my machines, etc nasty etcetera, threats demands of money, etc, and all from an official real apple.com address. Well, if you could right-click and delete as usual I would have deleted it unread and not had to get apple to reinstall the entire iOS17 from scratch after deleting everything as the scammer locked me out of my own machine. And all the apps are you crummy iPhone apps, on a computer more powerful than anything intel or AMD produce at the same price, which does make a joke out of Apple's claims for it as a gaming and photo & video-editing device since the apps for all those do work, but have all their iOS limitations. You are stuck with the same iOS your iphone has (at which point, WHY have both?) This question is answered by the very poor camera supplied to recent iPadPros-deliberate, to get you to do your video on an iPhone instead! Worse, this year's iteration has but a single camera, not two like the 2022 M2 models. AND, the devil is still that Apple force you to buy a third-party app to shoot your Pro-Res 4K video on your iPad Pro when on a 256GB plus iPhone Pro all those great apple apps are there built-in. You cannot add them to your iPad Pro even though it uses the same OS...so no Sonoma, so no IPad Pro!!

I own iPad Air 2020 since release. New iPad spec is good but I skip it because current iPad I have still good for longer until it’s iOS no longer support until last security update.

The new Surface Pro 11 with the Snapdragon X Plus/Elite chipset would be more useful than any of the 12.9" or 13" iPads. The battery life is now rated as 10h+ WiFi, with instant on/off screen, efficient standby time, and a full OS. Its weight with the Slim Keyboard + Pen combo is also lighter than the bigger iPad + Magic Keyboard and Pencil.

However, for a smaller 11" tablet form factor, nothing beats an iPad, for now. If OEMs/Microsoft launches a new Snapdragon Surface Go with a 10 to 11-inch size (3:2 aspect ratio) with at least 8h+ battery life on WiFi, then that may kill the portable tablet market. Unless Apple unlocked the iPad Pro to run a full desktop OS. Only time will tell.

Best iPad is probably the one I bought last week.
USD $550, with original box and accessories, used but immaculate condition, comes with two PaperLike Screen Protectors, an Apple Pen 2, and an original Apple Folio Case. The only bad point is it having 128GB storage, but it's usable, and it can be supplemented with Cloud Storage and External Thumb Drive.

            Which model is it?
It is the 13-inch iPad Pro, the original from Late 2021. It has the M1 processor so it's basically as efficient and fast as the M4. It should get a LONG time of support, so it won't be obsolete anytime soon. It has Apple's first generation miniLED display that's crazy bright and accurate indoors and outdoors. The microphone is sharp and the quad speakers are almost too loud. Also it has actual cameras that are much better than other tablets, about equal to an iPhone 12 Max. And you know what, it's okay. This is how tablets should be. But the entire industry is hellbent on making cheap eWaste, whilst Apple is overcharging for their products by orders of magnitude. Not sure why a competitor doesn't come and sweep the market, since it could.

I just picked up the iPad Pro 12.9 M2 for my wife and the Pencil 2nd gen. She's a pharmaceutical medicine student and needed a large screen, minimal lag when writing, and the ability to search easily through her handwritten notes. I asked a friend in Dubai to get it for us and it's an amazing deal at a great price.

If you want to do any serious computing, none of them. Get a Mac instead. iOS is still a dealbreaker because of its limited functionality, check out the MrWhoseTheBoss video on it. He had high expectations after the first day of usage thinking it could replace everything, but over the next few days he encountered so many little things that were clunky or didn't work, pretty much all due to the deficiencies of iOS over MacOS.

It's a shame that the xiaomi pad 6s pro is still better than the iPad pros in some ways

number 1,120w charging that comes right out of the box
number 2,6 speakers as opposed to 4 on the iPad
number 3,the speakers of the xiaomi pad 6s pro are louder than the ipad's according to Gsmrena
number 4,the xiaomi supports wifi 7,as opposed to just wifi 6e on the iPads

For who not yet own iPad, latest one just release is good for long term use. Any who is own previous version or 2-4 years old iPad just save up for later future version.
Another thing is don't trust whatever bad youtuber review just full of drama for sake of view. Some are like, some don't. Its everyone choice and preference.
I been using iPad Pro M1 since release replacing my laptop.

Get the iPad Pro M2 13" if you want a cheaper 13" device, still very good. Or even the M1 for the cheapest that can still last.

That little improvement here and there is great. But at the end of the day, ipadOS is not worth the money for an ipad. I have the M1 Ipad 1TB and hardly use anywhere near its capably power. Still find myself going back to my MacBook pro to do proper stuff.

M1 iPad Pro 1TB (11 or 12.9inch) is probably the best balance of spec and value for money iPad Pro right now (among all the iPad Pros and Airs).
It will probably get majority of updates that M2 and M4 iPPs will get.

The Surface Pro is a better product by miles, a true hybrid device. The iPad because of iOS is still not a laptop and never will be because Apple doesn’t want it taking MacBook sales. The only iPad’s that are worth buying are the cheaper ones because a $1000+ one functions no different to a $300 one.
