They need to resurrect the HTC m9 design it is timeless.

Meh, I wish it was a flat panel. But it's good to see HTC is trying again.

CongeeEnjoyer , 12 Jun 2024The design just screamed 2018 all over No one needs to always create a new design to be "new" just like old music that never goes "old".

I had the U11 for 6 years before the IMEI number vanished suddenly one day. Sadly, no service centers in India anymore. Such a beautiful phone it was (worthwhile travelling all the way to Taiwan to get it fixed!), and light too, compared to the heavy brick that I am using currently.

Is htc launching this smartphone in India?

MindTheGap, 12 Jun 2024For the price, it's probably vice versa. Maybe curved ... moreThe only reason is to drive the price for nothing beyond cosmetic reasons. It fools/tricks consumers who do not follow the tech news or are not interested in it, subsequently making them buy a bad product.

And you could not come up with a single objective benefit.

Also, 560 Euro is over 13 Euro more expensive than the Redmi K70 Pro. That thing has an SD 8 Gen 3, a better screen, UFS 4.0, a bigger battery, faster charging, a better main camera and just a plain better phone for much cheaper. So your price argument of curved getting cheaper goes down the drain real quick.

Azu10157, 12 Jun 2024Please come up with something original.Said the one loving something dead that nobody wants to waste time on remembering. Maybe about time you stop buying phones in toy stores?

S I R E, 12 Jun 2024Point out just one (1) *objective* benefit of curved edges ... moreFor the price, it's probably vice versa. Maybe curved screen is getting cheaper nowadays so those companies just said "why not". There's a reason why you can find curved screen on cheaper on easily nowadays, like this phone, Itel S23+, MIAD 01, etc.

Jacek, 12 Jun 2024Headphone jack, card slot, notification LED, IP certificate... moreyup. Lots of potential if they get software and camera tuning right.

My HTC One (m7) still works, apart from the purple camera, though the battery life became unusable after about 4 years. My wife's HTC 10 lasted over 5 years. But my daughter had 2 m9's which lasted about a year each.

I've no idea of the longevity of their recent devices though, since they stopped making anything I could use one-handed after the 10 and so I lost interest in them.

Paul, 12 Jun 2024Don't assume what you want is what others want.. curve... morePoint out just one (1) *objective* benefit of curved edges on a display.

To make it unreasonably easy for you, let me point out 10 negative aspects first -
                                1 - increases manufacturing complexity
                                2 - drives cost higher
3 - makes the screen more vulnerable to damage
4 - makes it hard to find a good/usable screen protector
5 - makes it hard to make a good phone case
6 - extremely expensive to replace a damaged unit
7 - visibility is inconvenienced due to increased points of reflection
8 - eats into the usable area for good side buttons
9 - can only be used with flexible OLED which is more expensive and prone to burn in/out
10 - makes the already narrow screen ratios even narrower, reducing the ideal area of the display.

                                JUST ONE! Go for it.

So another DOA mid range phone from HTC. People get hyped every year thinking HTC is going to make a comeback and it's always the same story. Lackluster mid range devices.

I hope this phone is priced right and is a moderate success, leading to the relaunch of HTC globally. They made the best phones before making stupid choices with the U11 onwards. HTC 10 was absolutely amazing.

My HTC 10 died exactly 2 years. The previous 1x plus is still working. I don't know about this one. They're quite good actually especially the sound, the longevity though is doubtful..
