Anonymous, 15 Jun 2024Tf? Are you some robot? My op7 screen went dead after t... moreIf an update was released like that then it would get the attention of federal regulators in the USA, EU, and other places. It would attract lawyers because it would be a RAINMAKER.

But none of that happens, so gonna have to hit that doubt (X) button.

Even if you are an Android Developer, it doesn't mean that you can prove what you said happened nor that what you said is true. Making an app is not the same thing as making system software.

By the way, since you are an Android developer you'd have known that ICs, batteries, and other components also have their own sensors and safety features that aren't always in the control of the OS, nor can firmware alter them. Even though Oneplus is the maker of the phone, they would have no idea how every chip works because some of the chips are propietary and no one but the maker of the chips know how they work (without decryption).

Since you are a developer, you'd know all of this already. No one needs to tell you where to look in the ROM image to prove what you said is true. Supply proof so we can make it rain. I love money, please provide the proof for your claims.

My op7 screen went dead after the update boot. And if you're interested I'll let you browse my XDA uploads, I'm in the game since a long time now. No speculation, robo returd. I went through the pain of bringing it to OnePlus' notice. Nobody really cares once your device is old. Go lookup screen problems and note down how many people actually faced issues with the update, that will be a better worth of your time.

        Keep succing on chinese duck

Heis, 15 Jun 2024Check this video out (https://youtu.be/mHj1z1wjGtA?feature=... moreI'm an Android developer myself.

I understand how phones work. I certainly know for sure when an update is designed to destroy the device. Never experienced that before with Samsung (from the Galaxy S3 days), Mi, Lenovo (yes back when they made phones as Lenovo and not moto), Nokia 2.0 Smartphones era, Apple (From Iphone 4 days)

So kid, if you want to succ on OnePlus' type c pin, keep going. One day you will see the true colors of these Chinese brands.

Apparently OnePlus is the only company who publicly addressed this issue and just to summarize, it isn't a software issue but a hardware one.

If it was due to software update as you claim to be then all of other phones should have the same problem and my OP7tpro works perfectly well till date.

There's also a very popular theory of device heating up while updating the phone and on top of it people charge the phone during update process which cause the screen damage and then few people like you will link it to software update. 🤷🏻‍♂️

                >update completely destroys my screen, like the brightness has gone minus range and I just cant use the phone anymore
                >Tried reset and contacting oneplus, they say visit service centre, service center gives me two options, either get the screen fixed by spending an amount which would buy me a budget phone or just exchange the damaged one for peanuts and buy a new oneplus device

                thank you, see see pee

A cool thing to do is to go to r/oneplus, twitter, and community.oneplus and type the words "Green Line", sort by latest, you can find a bunch of people whine about green lines, speculating on the cause of the issue (its just a manufacturing defect btw; usually grounds for a class action lawsuit) and share copium amongst themselves (e.g: "I got a coupon for my next op device", "its gonna be fixed in the next years devices"), Keep an eye out for the ones titled "oneplus 12 - green line", those are the best ones
