Depressing score

I don't mind this performance, but if you're gonna do that, price the 9 pro XL at 899, 9 pro at 799 and 9 at 599. Unfortunately you're definitely not gonna see such here.

Can't wait for Google to ditch the Exynos design and also go with TSMC. Should be a pretty good jump for their phones.

Anton .el PAPI., 17 Jun 2024You forget that it's Google you're talking about!... moreHonestly I'm wondering if I shouldn't just switch camps to Vivo once I've had my Google Pixel 7 Pro for 4 years. Hopefully by then they'll be available in the UK again. This kind of stagnation from Google just drives me nuts.

I'm not going to give you even half of everything you mentioned!!! They want the same as the iPhone but with inferior features and charge like a premium high-end to get greater economic benefit... Google must fire that SEO that it has that is good for nothing

Feels like they just pump out phones year after year No real benefit of changing. except when we're held at ransom for updates

I am a fan of tech, 17 Jun 2024This is geekbench 5 it would be higher if it was geekbench ... moreThe second screenshot is geekbench 6

So not only did they reduce the number of performance cores by 1. They also didn't bother to upgrade to the new Mali-G720 which is the best generational upgrade Arm has ever provided. By the time it is released, it won't take too long for new phones with Snapdragon 8 Gen 4, Dimensity 9400 and even Exynos 2500 to start appearing in the market. Even by then, a 2 years old Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 will still be more efficient than this. The Pixels even with their great software features a and support, won't last for long if they continue on with these sub par hardware.

PhoneAddictedTR, 17 Jun 2024it will be based on e2400 I guess.Specs seem a lot closer to the Exynos 2200 than the Exynos 2400, which really isn't where they should be in 2024 (the 2400 isn't far off the 8 Gen 3 in this test, the 2200 performs a little under what you see here).

This is geekbench 5 it would be higher if it was geekbench 6 so that is why it got such a low score it atleast get 5000 on mulitscore.

Ktzycho30, 17 Jun 2024Very poorly, if the final version has a similar result, it ... moreI thought the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 in a €1,000 phone was bad (Motorola Edge 50 Ultra), this is embarrassing.

I'm not even sure if this is based off of the Exynos 2400, as it has 8 cores instead of 10, has far inferior GPU and has lower clock speeds across the board.

Let's just hope the Tensor G4 turns out better than these leaks suggest, because this really isn't very good. Even with efficiency tuning, being barely faster than a Redmi K50 Pro (which has a Dimensity 9000) 3 years later at flagship pricing is not a good look

There's a lot wrong with this.

•Tensor G4 should've been much faster, at least as powerful as a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2. Samsung 4LPP+ seems promising, so on the efficiency side of things it shouldn't be too bad at least, but it's probably not good enough either.
•Pixel 9 *MUST* come with 12GB of RAM, any less is unacceptable. 8GB is not only not enough, especially since on-device AI requires more, but 8GB is nowadays on devices as cheap as lower-mid-rangers.
•The whole outer design of the Pixel 9 series is terrible in terms of looks, and it strips the brand identity of Google Pixels to the point where it's almost nonexistent. The frame and sides should've stayed curved, as should've the bezels, while the screen should've stayed flat, and the camera visor should've stayed. The Pixel 8 series has by far the best, most easily identifiable design out there, so it should've stayed. If it ain't broke, don't fix it.
•Pixel 9 should come with a 3× telephoto without a periscope lens to catch up with Samsung.
•Pixel 9 series should get ultrasonic fingerprint sensors, except for Pixel 9a, which should stay with the optical kind for lower cost.
•Pixel 9 should have a matte back and matte frame.

These scores are way too low. My Pixel 8 scored 4300 in multi core performance.
