Cupertino might be willing to keep this access available for ten years.

Has everything to do with your identity as a person. Which is more valuable then a name😉. For short, just using some fake emails accoint won't bring you much.

The Google Play Store requires a Google account, but if you uses a dummy Google account that doesn't have your personal information, Google won't know who you are.

Reality..., 20 Jun 2024Not a bad thought. But instead of.focusikg solely on Apple,... moreI agree to that, but the only thing i use with half google in it, is android. I practically uninstalled google and google assistent, and most of google stuff like gmail, phone, messages, etc. from my device, some with adb hack, some i was able to uninstall without adb. In rest i use firefox with duckduckgo as search engine, private dns and firewalls, because i know how to and i can. With apple all of this would not be possible. Never felt forced by google to use google only or anything google, for that matter, like apple actually does with it's customers, developers and competitors as well. This is a the BIG difference. But i agree, privacy should be also a BIG interest for european laws, it would be nice to actually have a system that i do not need to tweek just for to feal better. But hack is it better then not being able to do it at all, and being forced to do things you do not want just because you was dumb enough to buy. Bought devices should be the property of the buyer not of the seller, and the buyer should be able to do with it's property whatever he wants to do, hack even to stop updates if he pleases to, or block internet access to perticular apps or ads, or install third party apps from wherever he pleases, with offers from all possible competitors.

But instead of.focusikg solely on Apple, maybe have a look at Google and their ever growing anti consumerism over the years. They certainly aren't innocent with their goal to basically own the Internet via chromium. Don't forget their ever increasing data collection from android.
I just want the EU to give Google etc the same attention it's currently giving to Apple...

My friends & colleagues (I'm from India btw) with iphones always act surprised when I simply tap my android phone at a PoS device to pay with my Card stored in GPay, sometimes while looking them (friends) in the eye! 😂
They think this is some advanced alien technology, it's so cool, how did you do that, etc.😯🤯
And I simply say it's just NFC and has been there for so many years now (iirc, even windows phone had a wallet app with NFC payment option).
On request, I even sent a screen-recording of my phone of how to enter card details and enable tap-to-pay within GPay, but sadly my iPhone wielding colleague couldn't find it within his app, on his iPhone! 🤣

Boy will i be glad when garbage companies like apple are not able to kill small businesses anymore. That day, innovation will finaly trive.

alexoncunha, 19 Jun 2024just like the issues regarding AppStore fees and alternativ... more You do realise that EU does not try to only protect the Customer but the Law also protects competition, small companies, and Freelancers from the shark corporations. You also do realise that this does not apply only to apple, but to all companies that try to go shark mode? Easier to be a fanboy tough then to further think pass the: oh apple, so good. Ever tought about this fact? How come this law is for all but only apple has a problem with it since it's inception? If this does not trigger the alarm for you, then well, you are lost to apple pockets. And to think the only s..t apple gives about the customers is about how much money they have and are able to give.

EU should after this, tell them that they can't do it but only when apple pay ,45 euro-cent per transaction, and those should come from their earnings (with proof) and not the customer. Everything that can be tracked back to customer bank transactions to be fined win 50 million euros. So to give them back some of their own medicine.

If you need to use a different payment system in your country start lobbying your government or move to an EU member state.
