You can hire senior engineer with years of experience in India for the same salary you pay for a junior in US. Can you imagine setting the same price for this two person? Do they earn equally? Can they have same purchasing power? It's obviously gonna be out of the budget for one of them.

So, you'll set the price based on a country where the purchasing power 4 or more times more, expect all other countries to pay the same despite they earn much less.

If you earn 100x money a month, the price should be a portion of that money such as 1x. Otherwise, you'll lose your market share in that country.


You also probably don't know about anything of a company's finance operations. Companies have to set set lower prices for certain countries to keep the revenue flowing. Otherwise, everyone will avoid buying, postpone their interests or look for alternatives.

      2. Extortion? Who forced you to subscribe to YouTube Premium? Nobody. If you cannot get enough of YouTube, then it's your own addiction. If you don't like the cost, you can always unsubscribe. There's no contract involved. Stop playing victim for your own decisions.

Basically they are saying you are good for it so we can fleece you. It costs them no more to allow access to premium to a person there than anyone else on earth.

                I've been paying an average of a pound a month by "living in Argentina" for about 4 years now so if they finally catch me I'll have had a good run. Unfortunately I can never go back to watching adds so I'll just have to pay the higher UK rate.

Unless there is a exodus of user... moreNot gonna happen, YouTube Premium is successful and they have over 100 million subscribers and the number is growing, those who don't want to pay for no ads doesn't matter to them, those users doesn't give them revenue either way, abandoning or using adblock is the same to them, these users just use the resources giving 0 revenue, watch intrusive ads or pay is what Googles wants, they're not a charity company.
                          And the thing is most regular people don't care about the ads, if they care too much they pay, only tech savvy people goes after ad blockers and those are just a small percentage of users.

                                Why use vpn to buy premium if i can use revanced? I will never subscribe youtube premium unless i have return of dislike, remove shorts, breaking news, you might also light, and many junk feeds.
