"Apple went one step further in this case by preventing UTM SE from being notarized for listing in third-party app stores in the EU because the app apparently violates guideline 2.5.2, a rule which states apps have to be self-contained and can't execute any code "which introduces or changes features or functionality of the app, including other apps"

So much for their commitment to letting other stores work on iOS.

At the end Apple will step back and forbid emulation once again since they might realize their massive mistake they did.

Nintendo might sue them, they had a rivalry with Sony and don't want Microsoft to be there.
Also SNK, Sega and Atari are still alive.

So yeah, and seeing that small abandonware are not worthy (like 3DO o CDi), they might step back in their desicion.

I understand the principle and the sentiment, but almost no one is going to be negatively affected by this decision

Imagine using theoritically the most powerful processors in the world, only to be used with nothing but a restricted OS.

Steam Deck wins again by doing nothing (or something better).
