CMF Phone 1 teasers hint at removable back plate

It may not offer a Glyph interface but the CMF Phone 1 will get removable backs via the Nothing Lock mechanism.

If they start a removable and replaceable battery, oh it would be so hit.

    So they'll bait ppl w/ dumb sht like this but they wont give us a headphone jack.... thats actually insane....

      If there's no removable battery this phone's not worth buying. Why go out of the way to make a back removable and exclude battery access? A plastic backplate is honestly useless if I'm going to get a case anyways.

If a company isn't being competitive they're not helping the market in the slightest. "'trying' to do something new" meant phones like the Mi Mix 3. That was worth supporting due to more than just the sliding display. It was a promising offer. Unfortunately every time a company tries something new they abandon it shortly after.

        Fortunately for Carl Pei, this phone, at least according to rumors, also shouldn't have to rely on any gimmicks to be a good buy. Not if it's truly got a Dimensity 7300 at $240. Which, I don't know if I believe, considering Nothing's disappointing history. But who knows, maybe they actually did something good for once.

            Wow, something actually intriguing from Nothing for a change. I'm praying that corner scroll wheel can be set to page up/down per tick. Also rooting for a removable battery.

              So we are going back to old tricks with the removable back cover to the era where we were easy to replace battery ? We use to have ways for no screws to have the back cover solid stuck and these screws were mostly for rugged phones only.

              Kind of cheap way to remove cover if they want to be creative in design. Make some puzzle in that tiler for volume or tune ratio if it have the radio support that is but never mind that as the point be to make something like gear change move the tile out and then scroll left or right to unlock the cover. You can screw everything shot in where ever so that's boring in phone design

              Also reparability is nice but the phone needs to be worth to repair. Like budget to middle class is not really a point. It must have good performance and good cameras and also long term software support. So after like 4th OS update the phone wont be out of date with performance and cameras and get slow cause budget to middle class hardware. So what be the point to repair them?

                Well let's see, usefull or gimmik.

So they definetly would not be the "first".

                    They are the kings of gimmick.

                                  I am one hundred and one percent confident that you can NOT change battery or anything but you can change the back cover, customise it according to your creativity I guess.

                                  People say cmf/nothing will share the necessary 3d files with people who wants to print.

                                      if it means replacable battery as well, it's a very nice thing (remember, starting from 2027, they have to use user replacable batteries in the EU, but a) they don't have to wait 2+ more years for that, and b) it could mean an advantage in the market if they're the first one providing this feature)

                                      if it's just a "skin", it's gonna be the biggest joke in a long time
