    If there is no telephoto lens and the quality of the zoom is important, the 13 series from Realme or the 12 series which will certainly be under €300 with x3 optical zoom are more interesting

              It's a good sensor. The problem is that Samsung hasn't been a good sensor maker as of late. Less innovative than Sony and less offerings than even the Omnivision. Wouldn't say their stagnant but more like their neither faster nor better equipped than the two. Omnivision in particular has been putting better strides in making sure that their products are favourable towards Chinese brands following Huawei incident. Samsung hasn't been doing well on a better sensor since the GN2.

                  Unfortunately for SD fanatics, some Mediatek phones can use custom roms IF they know where to look.

                      Xiaomi Note series was interesting only to it's 5/6th generation as 6th change screen to notch and hardware was same. After 5th gen come out come PocoPhone and now you know that with note that is more aimed for the camera side and lacks in performance as chips like at best SD778 aka 7s gen 2 with rebranded names. And Poco will be with performance and nothing special camera. Now note is useless as it dont even have that special cameras on them with just big numbers like 108mp and 200mp that means nothing more then just big numbers. Just middle class cameras and nothing special to sacrifice so much on performance when for same money poco x6 pro have you dimensity 8300U and it should have you that 3 OS updates also so why you need custom rom for updates for ? 3-4 years no problems with the updates and after that you probably change the phone anyways.

                      If Note have like 7 gen 3 and something like good wide camera, telephoto, periscope and so on or some chip in the performance range of antutu v10 700-800k that supports these camera options to then be a good midclass price phone in the 300-400 euro range that specifically give you a flagship camera killer phones but not as flagship performance killer.
