Report: Apple to make iPhone batteries easier to replace

To comply with EU regulations, Apple will ditch the glue strip on at least one iPhone 16 model.

yangsj, 28 Jun 2024Will the EU actually enforce this? Phone companies seem ... moreit depends of how many ppl actually want to replace phone batteries ONLY .. I guess not a lot.. Many people or kid boys here still has their thinking from 2010 or 2015 that batteries won't last ..But nowadays an smartphone battery last sufficient enough as people especially teenagers and women up to 30 years old want phones every year so.. Battery won't be issue .. ONly if those kids has constantly phone connected to charger and playing games 24/7

      For OLED screen phones it would be better to have removable battery becsue if u go to phone shop with iphone 12 and up they won't replace just the battery.. as screen can easily crack and u will get white line

        Looks like making the transmission of a car easier to rebuild to me.

            Easier != actually easy. This is Apple we’re talking about. I’m sure they will find a way to make things more difficult than it supposed to. Like yeah, it’s easier to replace, but getting the genuine battery might be close to impossible unless you go to Apple.

              First they made batteries faster to degrade, then expensive to change, finally they also made them easier to replace

                      As usual, Apple is doing what they do, change to another, as-complicated, method. and as usual, Apple will be hit with another massive fine. The next one will likely be double of the 40 billion fine they got this year. Can Apple afford that and still stay competitive?

                        Ohh it's because of EU?? Good move. They should also force Samsung on this.

                                      Anything that isn't like the cursed LG phone, that JRE doused with liquid solvent to pry off the battery, will be enough for the boomers at EU.
