Anonymous, 01 Jul 2024Yes, I meant minor kernel version updates. Only few phones ... moreIt is difficult to know when they uploaded the kernel version to a device because it is information that is only known when you have the device in your hands but there are devices that have uploaded the kernel version, for example the Galaxy A10s from 4.9 to 4.19, the motorola g play 2023 from 4.19 to 5.10 and also the Realme C35 from 4.14 to 5.4

Then run the samsung store update it first because it wont run and also run update list and check how many apps will jumps on you.
Then run update for galaxy UI or newer version of android count everything and then talk to me again. Try for example A14 samsung, or A54 or S23 doesnt not matter much.

if true, then we should already reading tons of complaint/report in internet or reported here, if there 180+ apps in samsung phones running in background hogging performance
we in internet world bro, its simple to find things over internet, no point saying nonsense
samsung sure have some apps preinstalled on their phones
but not much different compared to other, sony, xiaomi and the rest also have some preinstalled apps, and with few latest android version which periodically put apps to sleep, saying apps keep running in background un-noticed is just weird
so what samsung phone you seeing with 180+apps running in background ?
and where there screenshot of it ?

potato4k, 30 Jun 2024Slowdowns on Android is no longer a concern for the past 5 ... moreWhich bugs???
You can experience same bugs on a fresh new phone as you can have it in a very old device this has nothing to do with bugs.
Listen me now.
Playing Clash of Lords game since 2014 now i have 6th phone for that game.
Honestly my first one where i played thi thing was Huawei Y5 of 2014 time.
If i would ever try to run same game on a 10 years old phone with just 1GB of ram and 8GB of storage game will either not run properly or freezes. Back the havent had much issues with game. Same goes for my lenovo Vibeshot which i had since summer 2015 up to october 2017 when i bought my Motorola X4.
A7x performance cores are good for most basic apps like brownsing facebook tik tok etc.
Those apps still evolving but the hardware requirement will be minimal as always.
We cant say that about a game which in summer 2016 had more than 100 million downloads and over 75 millions active user base.
Another good example is diablo immortal which were struggling to run eve on Samsung S10.
Now even S24 have some issues to run it on full details without delay, laggs and bugs.
This game is hardware so heavy that you can forget to play it on a device with less than 8GB of ram and in c ase of Samsung since OneUI is full of bloatware where half of your performance is eaten just by running the brand new phone and seeing around 160 apps running on backround. This is a no for me and should be a no for anyone else.
Something like my Motorola Edge 40 pro have not much issues because of 12GB ram compared to 8 and only few preinstalled google apps on a fresh new phone.
Run lay store on new samsung around 60+ google apps waiting for update, then galaxy store waiting for update and inside galaxy store another 80-120 apps (device dependable in S series is around 120) waiting for update. So with 150+ apps running oon backround whole day you cant expect a decent performance if your phone have only 8GB ram from which half is instantly eaten plus lot of disk space too.

User, 30 Jun 2024Actually there was firmware updates for some button phones.... moreBro updating a feature phone with just few bytes or kilobytes of firmware and android which takes for example as much as 4-20 gigabytes device dependable is a huge difference.
Back then your socalled firmware had minimum features and apps.
Nowdays you run fresh new phone and 80+ apps running ion backround on a clean android device like Motorola or Google. Running fresh new samsung phone for example is like 80+ google apps and another 100+ by samsung

This makes me remember how hard Fairphone has to do to roll out the Android 10 OS update on the FP2. The main problem was that the Snapdragon 801 SoC had already been EOL when Fairphone seeded the OS update.

Cpt.Power, 29 Jun 2024Like anyone cares hahaha. I buy my phone from my network ... moreSlowdowns on Android is no longer a concern for the past 5 years or so. Any old phone with at least A78 performance core and UFS can handle even the latest Android just fine. The hardware is sufficient. Any issues is usually software bugs. 7 years of updates ensure the OEM to fix bugs.
