                    Right now for updates, Google only requires OEMs to provide 2 years of quarterly security patches to get certified. No OS updates is required.

Thats why we just renamed the loved 695 chips to a new name, you can even call it the 695+ if you like, because everyone loves the 695 chip so much basically oem never bored on milking it and we have endless supplies, oh if you are afraid of our 680 chip ran out of supplies, we just have restocking them and renamed it into 685 with infinite supplies and oem managed to sell it at the same price as the old 778G chips so we have a lot of profits

                        Years ago Google said they wanted to make android simpler to enable more frequent updates. Not sure if that worked if QC is attempting it now.

I'll rather have a good quality ips display over an amoled any day, especially over garbage amoleds that are in almost all budged chinese smartphones.

                                Even if Qualcomm provides the solution. Manufacturers won't just accept this solution.

                                Those companies won't want users to stay with their old phones that will affect their SALES.

                                    For example you can be judge in charge iof EU highest court in Brussel Belgium and force all manufacturers to give even 10 years of updates and security but you cant force no matter what a 100 eur worth phone from some unknown or less known phone maker like Cubot to give 10 years of warranty to cover all kind of damage.
                                    Even if you find way how to force all phone brands to give 10 years of Updates and Warranty. You cant force a 100 eur worth phone from which is 50 eur worth in componets to last 10 years without any issues.
                                    This will bnever happens. And if you really manage to force all phone brand sto make even a low cost phone have a 10 years of OS updates and warranty said low cost phone wouldnt cost under 100 anymore.
                                    Even something like Redmi A3 would start at pricing 250-300 even if heavily supported by chinese government.
                                    Something with zero support from government like Samsung A0x series or A1x series woudnt cost less than 400 and flagships will be like 3000+ per piece made.
                                    End of story.

                                        Othervise its makes no sense.
                                        Hav ing a flagship with 5 years of updates who dies 2 weeks after your 2 years warranty wears out and they give you a 400 eur repair price is a no for me even the phone were supposed to get 3 more OS updates.
