What about putting a break on the consecutive price hikes of your flagship SoCs that cost almost on par with decent midranger phone nowadays?

Anonymous, 29 Jun 2024Not only for cheaper phones. Oneplus, Motorola and Xiaomi o... moreLike anyone cares hahaha.
I buy my phone from my network carrier on a 2 year long monthly contract and when my old phone its paid i get a new one and sell my old device.
Many people do same thing because its cheaper than buying a 1000-2000 eur flagship instantly by credit card or cash.
For example since last week of July 2023 i have my Motorola Edge 40 pro and paying 16 euros a month rest been covered by my carrier plan i pay which is 37 euros plus 16 per phone so my monthly phone bill is 37+16 thus 53 euros excluding any extras like google play receipts, paid sms for various TV or Radio contests etc.
My Carrier is O2 Telefonica and i am Slovakian (Central Europe) citizen.

And so when next year July 2025 my Phone gets paid i will buy a new phone on contract and sell my old device while it still have a decent value.

Before my Motorola Edge 40 pro had for 2 years Xiaomi Mi 11 lite 5G for 395 euros also bought on contract lasting 2 years and i paid each month 12 euros for a 400 eur device rest been covered by my carrier plan.
Now it cost me 16 instead of 12 for having a twice as much expensive device new Motorola edge 40 pro was 789 euros at that time.

Soupdates dont really matter that much. Most users dont update their phones very often and some especally people of age 50+ dont care about updates at all.
Own a phone shop company with 30 stores around the country mostly in large shopping malls and honestly plenty of people every single day come to a shop with app problems and the easy issue is they forgot to update.

As you cant teach new tricks old dog you can explain as much as you want but they simply forget.
Llstly noone wants to have even a very updated by OS, Security and Apps phone which is 7 or 10 years old but due to outdated hardware which you cant update device will not keep up and running even most basic apps means huge delay.
Waiting many seconds or minutes to run even most basic apps like facebook, tik tok, whatsapp, viber, instagram or some basic games like worldblitz or match masters, candy crush etc is a no for me.
It should be a NO for everyone.

P.S. if the phone manufacturers wants to give nmore updates they should give more warranty too. Inside EU region warranty starts at two years.
Outside Eu is 1 year or even zero country dependable.
If said companies believes to their own products so much they are willing to give 3-5-7 or even 10 years of updates they shouls give equal in warranty in all of 206 existing countries in world. Its smple as that.
And if they cannot give more warranty then i dont see reason for having more updates too.
Apart the fairphone you cant update hardware and thus phones gets more and more useless older their are. It have nothing with value for money. So brands like google give much more updates than Apple or Samsung and yet their phones after 3-5 years arent worth more than 50-100 even if the phone is in a brand new condition after 3-5years of use.

How about fixing your horrendous naming scheme first!!
STOP confusing consumers with rehashed/rebadged 2-3 yr old chips pretending that they are latest release and are better than their previous iteration!
I thought QC would be better than MTK in that regard, but it seems it's just as bad!
