Apple Intelligence might get a paid tier

Already happening: they said at WWDC the GPT 40 model is paid... you only get 3.5 free.

So if they integrate the payment into "Apple Intelligence from OpenAI" or just let it be separate... potato potato.

              Back to the subject. I don’t see this succeeding at all. If AI bubble decides to pop, then a LOT of companies about to lose a lot of money.

I am too, but I see how young people use this everywhere. Especially in school, and if you use it to "beat" school it kind of becomes a prerequisite for life. I have a bunch of colleagues using this on a daily basis, to optimise routines and procedures. It isn't flawless, obviously, but it is quite effective at a lot of mundane things. That is what Apple completely ignored and the reason Apple is now scrambling to figure out how to monetise this. They did attempt their usual MO and toxically downplay what AI is, but that failed miserably.

                            Apple is really being pressured to join the AI hype train.
                            Even though Apple is the type of company that waits a bit while the technology matures before incorporating the technology to their products.

                            AI, at it's current state, is basically a digital psychedelic assistant.
                            Free tier is already bad, asking customers to pay for incompetence is not any better.

                              Some AI features can't be done on device which is the reason it will be outsourced and part of the reasoning for costing extra.

                                It worked in the past century didnt it?

                                  At this point, AI features for the common man is totally useless beyond suplimentated search results with assertive insights which may or may not be true/fact. ChatGPT found to be useful in the IT world (may be some other fields as well) where it can generate code and you can try integrate the same in your projects. Just like Apple News and associated services where Apple is not able to make any big progress beyond loyal user base, this will also be in the same league. Data Engineering requires different mind set. I think Apple has enough data than any other company but just that it doesn’t have enough expertise to use it for common man’s use.

Apple's ecosystem is poor, If Apple wasn't a luxury brand, it wouldn't have any value in that price range, and other companies have much better cameras, designs and systems at the same price. One thing to keep in mind is the same price, at the same price even Chinese brands are better than Apple.

                                        Copying is also to instill a sense of luxury in cheap phones, otherwise Apple copied a simple feature of Android phones ten years later. Their innovations are generally distinctive rather than practical.
