X, 11 Jul 2013Depends of what you want. I rather have a top Android phone... moredont worry about raw format. The last time i checked, herald myere camera pro for 808 pureview had raw image type as an option. 808 had blown out most of the point and shoot cameras clean out of the water and i'm pretty sure eos can top that. And, your cheap plastic, over-rated OS, poorly designed sg s3's camera DOESNT EVEN COME CLOSE TO 808 PUREVIEW, let alone eos.

X, 11 Jul 2013Depends of what you want. I rather have a top Android phone... morego home troll, you contradict to yourself with every sentence.
you come here criticizing the iq of this camera which if is an evolution of 808's than it's way out of smartphone world and point@shoot but somehow you are satisfied with your shots from S3:))))
"(I'm satisfied with my SGS 3 pictures for example, even in low light)" :)))))))
then you would prefer a top lagdroid, why not BB/WP/iOS?
" I rather have a top Android phone which gets decent pictures anyway(I'm satisfied with my SGS 3 pictures for example, even in low light) than a 41 MP camera which shuts 5 or 8 MP photos anyway, since the 40MP pictures are unusable" ?? what? why aren't unusable?:))))
and spare us from your little photography lessons, RAW format(so funny when you say "JPEG, take a lot of memory space" - but actually not as much as RAW) has its disadvantages and the extra gain in more control in post processing it's not a big deal for every day user who takes so many pics and doesn't have the time or desire to edit all of them but sure it would be nice
now you can close the door...

X, 11 Jul 2013Depends of what you want. I rather have a top Android phone... moreIf you are fine with SGS3 camera, then this is absolutely not he device for you.
Tis is all about the camera.
Sure, the full resolution pictures arent super high in actual resolution, but the extra pixels provide som information for the downscaling process, and zooming. I dont know the resolution of Nex5, but if its one of sonys 24 MP cameras, it will probably have a higher per pixel resolution with a decent lens, than this.
But the Nex, although quite compact is not as likely to be with you at all times, as a mobile.
But you are fine with SGS3, so I guess you dont take a lot of low light pictures.
Nokia will probably release some quad core 1080p, 5" phone as a follow up to 925/928, when WP supports that, and in that case you will probably still have OIS, and thus yet be better off than with a SGS3, but in a slimmer format than this device.

Just wondering why didn't they just make a bigger screen so to accomodate the internal parts easier for resulting in a thinner phone? A metallic body or frame would make it hell sturdy in 8mm thickness and 5-5.5'' display.

Anonymous, 11 Jul 2013Because you can't talk text or surf the web very well on a ... moreDepends of what you want. I rather have a top Android phone which gets decent pictures anyway(I'm satisfied with my SGS 3 pictures for example, even in low light) than a 41 MP camera which shuts 5 or 8 MP photos anyway, since the 40MP pictures are unusable(low quality/JPEG, take a lot of memory space, memory that is limited without the sdcard option and especially with WP8 "other" space problem). If I want poster quality pictures I can take my Nex 5R with me, in a small bag if I need 3 lenses, or I carry it around my neck if I want to use a single lens. And I bet the Nex 5R pictures are better than the 40 MP pictures you can take with the 1020, which btw, saves them in JPEG format(losing information), while the Nex takes the pictures in raw format(no loss of information).

Huge bezels around tiny (relatively) screen... huge size... extreme weight... tiny battery... weak hardware... everything seems to be in place:
Its a Nokia!
I've been using Nokia mobile phones since 2001, loved it. As of today, I don't see a single interesting Nokia phone. Windows Phone is just weird.

AnonD-152638, 11 Jul 2013Whats with the bluetooth 3.0, and low capacity battery? An... moreI read on some windows phone blog that Nokia amber update would bring Bluetooth 4 support to Lumia 620 & 720 etc. So even if Lumia 1020 does not support bluetooth 4 out of the box, Nokia Amber update would make it support soon.

I've been visiting gsmarena every day for 3 months, just for news of this phone. And now that it's out, it's a disappointment.
I need more than 32 gb space. I would like a top shelf soc, to assure me my hard earned money wasn't a bad investment. 1080p maybe isn't needed. But some splash proofing would have been cool. Granted, I'm an average joe. Don't know what a phone needs, what's a gimmick, what's too much, what's not enough. But this ain't enough for me nokia. I'm taking my money elsewhere. And I don't think I'll ever get worked up about a new cameraphone from nokia again. At this price range, I'm already compromising on the os. I won't compromise on the hardware too.
