Einvision7, 11 Jul 2013unfortunatly the sensor will be smaller than in 808 - this ... moreSmaller sensor, would explain how they could slim it down so much.
BSI, new optics and OIS will probably compensate compared to the 808 (and some), however it's not like the 808 gave us perfect 38/36MP images, so we would have wanted the larger sensor plus BSI, new optics and OIS.
I don't think nokia is using the slimmest AMOLEDs, so they could still have slimmed it down compared to the 808.. (isn't the unbreakble plastic covered ones going to be even slimmer)

I think that this is not the proper specs sheet. Nokia has certainly lived up to the hype they have created. But, that is restricted to its camera alone. A quadcore would have been a slap on android’s face. 32GB of inbuilt space alone is not going to get the job done. Bad business choice there. I don’t know why nokia is still clinging to Bluetooth v3 while other manufacturers are throwing out v4 in most of their devices. If nokia is going to stick with adrino 220, its best they quit the business while they have some respect left. At least, will it offer 720p at 60fps? There are phones that can do 720p at 90fps{normal mode} and 720p at 120fps slowmo. If these are not met in a phone who’s camera prowess was hyped as one of the best, I don’t think nokia has done any better than in the still shoot mode. Even for android, I think the extra cores are used only for gimmics. Not much use there. Dual speakers is something worth considering as most of the top end phones have only one speaker. As for the battery, I can’t say much. It really depends on both, hardware and software. If we are to believe this leaked spec sheet, 2000 mah would be sufficient as I think windows would be optimized for it.

In all honesty... I've currently got a Note 2 - but I want my next phone to be a Windows (and then get a surface tablet, get the complete eco-system, etc. etc.)
And I really want to get a Nokia...
But...
They're really letting the side down with some of these specs... no external SD on a flagship phone when lower models have this? Unacceptable.
Poor screen resolution, again, when this could be easily rectified - on a CAMERA-CENTRIC phone... also unacceptable...
FINALLY...
That battery size... oh dear oh dear...
I think this was their last chance to really flex some muscle...
I suspect the mobile landscape will look very different next year when I'm ready to upgrade...

unfortunatly the sensor will be smaller than in 808 - this is what I can read from the specs - but he has BSI, so hopefully it will compensate a bit.
still highly interested, 768p screen is fine for me, wp runs very smooth on dualcore.

AnonD-123676, 11 Jul 20131080p is just a gimmick, it wont give you any benifit over ... moreagree, 1080p in mobiles is quite a bad idda with current CPU+GPU and battery.. and at 4.5 inch, you would be wasting lads on resources on pixels you cant see or benefit from.
In any below 10" (ipad included), 1080p is more wastefull than usefull), and in those, the difference between 720p and 1080p, isn't as big as you might think, text still gets jaggered. Youre really need to go hinger, and then your in the same dilema with wasting more resources than you get back.
But the downer here, if it's still PenTile. Thats noticeble.

You can take pics from 5MP to 38MP with this phone. But:
5MP = Excellent quality
38MP = Standard quality

Cthulu, 11 Jul 2013No FullHD 1080p display? Why Nokia, why?Because it's not at all necessary to have a full HD resoluton on such a small display.
It would only make the phone much worse.

The ERA of SmartPhone Ends with Nokia Lumia ... moreCorrection:
Nokia Lumia 1020 probably brought in the new era for super cameraphone.
Androids are already in Superphone era for sometime now. Windows and iOS is till catching up. Camera alone don't give Nokia Lumias the edge to be superphones :)

Whats with the bluetooth 3.0, and low capacity battery?
And I'm assuming PenTile pixel arrangement.
BT 4.0, is needed if you want to connect any serious heart rate monitor. (and in the future, smartwatches for WP)
WP may in theory be more battery efficient than Android, but as seen on battery tests, the performance has not been great. And talktime and surfing will never be at the level of the high capacity devices no matter how more efficent WP gets.
AND this is a camera mobile, that flash and the image processing done in this will drain your battery in not time at all, if you are trying to use it as you only camera on a vaccation.
Sure 4.5" is pretty small, so 720 is nice, but there is a clear difference even at this size between pentile and full RGB.
And no microSD, where will all my pics go, when I'm abroad???
If it had USB on the go, and a file manager, I would be fine (actually I would prefer that combo pretty good built in storage and USB on the go, with cheaper per GB price, and not as fiddely, and you cont loose USB memory as easy, and easier for transfer to computers... but I already have a 32GB microSD, that I could have used)
Makes me think this is not the device for me to get.

For all its hype, ni knew that nokia would live up to it. But, apart from its stunner camera, I just can’t believe that specs sheet at all. Some specs are just not acceptable. For example, the Bluetooth 3.0. what the hell is that? When companies like micromax can provide Bluetooth v4 and a quadcore processor, why not nokia? That part is simply unacceptable. 720p or 1080p it doesn’t matter much. As for its size, the best android phone which can only dream of coming close to this beauty is Samsung galaxy zoom. I just can’t recall that piece of scrap plastic being thin. If there are any stupid apple fans out there saying “what’s the point in having a camera like this when my apple 8mp camera is sufficient?”. For them, “apple’s fans can’t see beyond 8mp because they are stuck with apple’s HIGHLY INOVATIVE camera” and their “cutting edge” technology. Its just that they don’t realize they are outdated. 32gb with expandable would have been nice on the lumia eos. Two speakers are something we don’t find on the top end phones now-a-days. Nice !

Cthulu, 11 Jul 2013No FullHD 1080p display? Why Nokia, why?You need a pentile-5inch/RGB-6inch screen for 1080p to do anything besides double your device's workload. 720 is fine, small-ish battery is kinda a bummer though.

AnonD-27765, 11 Jul 2013The 41MP sensor will be used for lossless zooming and not f... moreAccording to vizileaks it will take 40MP pictures JPEGs.
I can imagine that such a 40MP picture will be worse than a 16MP picture (RAW) from the NEX 3N. This Nokia 1020 is a real gimmick stuff. Since it has to store WP related files, the space available for pictures will be very limited(especially with the famous "other" problem for WP) without a sd-card.
