If it actually looks like anything in the renders, it looks quite nice tbh especially when you consider it's a mid-ranger

justasmile, 05 Jul 2024Person in 2024 still complaining about headphone jack! Booo... moreMany blind fanatics are deffending corporate decicions because they translate "no 3.5mm jack or SD memory card" comments as "we love to live in the past" instead of just asking companies to bring back the CHOICE which people don't have and are force to buy whatever corporates wants.
Your solution is what corporates are saying and that's "use a dongle or buy Cloud storage" because that's so much better IN EVERY WAY POSSIBLE. It can't be absolutelly better because that woul mean wireless buds or cloud storage are better in every way and as we all know it, that's not the case. This solution works, but for who? Only for corporates. And you are on their side! Why? What it has to do with you if some person says "hey no this or that no buy"? What would you miss if you had an option and just choose what's suits you the best?
How can you all say exact the same things to people wanting the most practical solution of HAVING BOTH?
You wanna talk about presence? Sure buddy!
Do you have an Hybrid (PHEV) car or EV?
Because if you have an ICE, you're stuck in last century!
ICE – Internal Combustion Engine, an engine that generates power using fossil fuels such as petrol or diesel.
So thank you all for your help! Thank you so so much....

The translucent plastic back seen on that one colorway of the fairphone 5 is the greatest back panel ever seen on a phone.

SShock, 05 Jul 2024I've never cracked any glass. But scratches, I have pl... moreI've only cracked one glass back, and I really didn't know exactly when that happened (the A7 2018 was always in a case).
The only time I use my glass backs without a protective case are when I'm on the bed. I miss using my phone bare some times. I especially loved the cold feel of my metal HTCs and Gionees.
My matte-back and textured-back plastics (Nokia 603 ☺️, Galaxy S2 🥰) rarely ever had noticeable scratches.
I'm usually careful with handling my phones. I'm very cautious of the frictions they make with surfaces, they have very minimal contacts with hard surfaces that aren't glass as I can't stand dents and pronounced scratches. But cracking or, worse, shattering my back glass is what I'm most wary—if not afraid—of.
I can be quite conscious about keeping/placing my phone, but dropping it is always inadvertent. So, you see, scratches are rarely my concern; cracking or breaking is. And phones are actually prettier without a case.

Wow metal back. A rarity. Can't wait to see the antenna setup. I can see the 5 strip on the top-half, but can't see if there's any bottom side.

It's actually a very nice design. I love when they did this similar duo-finish design on the Pixel 1 to 3 series.
Duo-finishes are one of the most underrated design elements on smartphones. Especially with solid colors and no other embellishments. It's very simple yet attractive.
Edit: Oh wait, the back is metal? Holy crap that's awesome
