04 July 2024
It will be the same unit that's used by Samsung in its Galaxy S24 family.

Sammy0, 05 Jul 2024Good decision; the Samsung ultrasonic sensor is the best in... moreYou clearly never use best optical fp sensor. My iqoo 12 is optical, much faster and almost zero failure, wheter wet, moist, or dry finger.

Good decision; the Samsung ultrasonic sensor is the best in terms of accuracy and speed, and far superior to Pixel's optical sensor.

CamoGeko-XDA, 05 Jul 2024Bad news, I have an S24+ and the scanner is really annoying... morewhat are you talking about!!! hahahahahaha the ultrasonic fingerprint reader is much faster than that optical garbage that almost leaves you blind in the dark!! thank god google is getting back on the way.. oh before i came to talk about scanning fingerprints, i had the s20 ultra 2 times, the s20 plus, the s21 ultra 2 times! also the galaxy s10 which was the first to carry this ultrasonic fingerprint scanner which has been improved much since then

          Thanks God

Bad news, I have an S24+ and the scanner is really annoying!! Doesn't scan at all unless your finger is in perfect condition, not too dry or moist. If Google puts that on the Pixel 9 people will hate it. Google should have talked to Xiaomi or Vivo about their scanners and used their tech instead. Their biometrics some of the fastest and most convenient out there while still remaining secure.

I'm not sure what gsm arena were smoking before writing this article, but it sure killed a couple of braincells. Ultrasonic scanners are NOT faster, neither do they work when your finger is wet or even moist. My IQOO 12 optical scanner fails maybe once a day, while the failure rate in the ultrasonic scanner in my S24+ is like 90%!!!

Im considering buying this pixel for first time

But comments mostly negative on tensor ??

              Is it that bad ??

I tried using a Pixel 8 Pro recently. It takes half a second after swiping to get the menu for bluetooth and wifi to appear. It literally lags.

Way too late but, better late than never ig

I like the sensor much more on my Xiaomi 13T Pro vs my Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra for sure, much more effective.
So compare Pixel with S24U dont impress me at all.
