Google Pixel 9 to have an ultrasonic in-display fingerprint sensor

    You mean, the fingerprint scanner that was supposedly gonna be on the 8 series? Everyone knows, this upcoming generation, is such a minor iteration, is more like the 8.5 Series than new, hence Google moving the release cycle back to August, to try & salvage sales. I'm very happy with my 8 Pro, I won't be looking at another Pixel, until TSMC start manufacturing Google's SOCs next year ..

          I've literally explained that I have both of the phones in front of me side by side and the optical scanners on my Vivo IQOO and Xiaomi phones are miles ahead in speed and accuracy than Samsung could ever dream of.

          All I get in response from these nubs is them telling me I'm lying while they probably never tried anything better than an old Samsung that their grandma bought them for their 21st birthday 5 years ago, so of course they don't know about better.

                Very nice.

                  Too bad of all security implementations that I have tried the one that i prefer is capacitive fingerprints (side or rear).

                      Don’t buy any pixel phones,there are lot of issues in every model like network,voice,heating,touch,freeze.Samsung is best and will remain best forever after Nokia .

                          Samsung doesn't even use the best ultrasonic fingerprint sensor. I have an S23U and if I didn't know any better I'd assume this phone had an optical sensor because it performs like an optical sensor. Samsung uses a pretty small ultrasonic sensor while the companies that do use ultrasonic sensors use the Qualcomm 3D Max which is considerably better than the ultrasonic sensor Samsung puts in their phones.

And of course, ultrasonic fp is picky on tempered glass screen protector. Try harder next time.

                                    I feel like most high-end smartphones SHOULD be using ultrasonic tech by now. It's sad that only few adopt it.

                                    Also, when will Apple be less stubborn and just add an UDFP scanner on their iPhones already. Android phones have inherited many hardware elements from iPhones, the fact that Apple cannot humble down and do the same is just absurd.

                                      yes, samsung is a mess with dry and wet finger and their algorithm is too basic, they just register the fingeprint once and be done with it that's why on many forums you see people recommending to register the same fingerprint multiple times, while other brands like vivo or huwaei actively learn your fingeprint all the time, I know this because I registered only the tip of the fingeprint and 1 week later it worked with the entire fingeprint, pretty sure apple is doing the same with face id to adjust to new looks and stuff, just samsung lags on this
